Every week on Strictly Come Dancing, viewers are treated to a parade of fabulous frocks on the contestants and professionals.

So when Girls Aloud performed on Strictly's result show, they knew they would have to pull out all the stops.

So it appears the reunited five-piece took inspiration from the contest's glitterball trophy as they took to the stage in silver mirrored mini-dresses.

All bandmembers except Nicola Roberts wore their hair down loose in waves, while the Cheshire-native had a half up, half down 'do.

Their Strictly appearance, which was filmed on Saturday night at Wembley Arena, comes after they performed two songs on Children In Need on Friday night.

Their Children In Need renditions of Something New and Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me were the first time they had performed together as a group for three years.

It cemented their reunion for their 10th anniversary this month after a three year hiatus.

When asked how to felt to perform together by Children In Need co-host Sir Terry Wogan, Kimberley said: 'It's great. It's so special.'

When asked about how it felt having their song selected as the official Children In Need single, Cheryl replied: 'It's just been a very special thing to be a pat of it. We feel very fortunate to be a part of it.'

Reflecting on their reunion, Nadine enthused: 'It was really great. We couldn't wait to get back to back together.

'We were so nervous. Hope no one noticed that mistake I made when I walked forward.'

When Terry tried to question the girls over their past disagreements, Nadine raised her eyes to the ceiling and said: 'What disagreements?'

Kimberley explained: 'We've all fallen back into the same roles like nothing's ever changed.'

Cheryl insisted: 'There is no drama.'

However, Sarah Harding joked: 'Well maybe wardrobe envy.'

Girls Aloud confirmed their reunion in October by releasing their video to Something New online ahead of its scheduled release on Monday.

Meanwhile, also performing on the results show was Kylie Minogue, who sang a reworking of her debut single Locomotion.

Girls Aloud are what they are and don't pretend to be otherwise. They may not be the best singers or dancers but they are entertainers and from this single will raise a lot of money for a brilliant cause. I thought it was an ok performance - nothing that I wouldn't have expected. I was slightly disturbed by Sarah Harding though. You can see the pain of her troubles all over her face, which is a shame when she used to be one of the stronger members of the group. I hope she has found some inner happiness.

They were dreadful. You can tell there's serious tension between some of them too (was the same on CiN).

MrsF, Leeds, United Kingdom, 19/11/2012 13:19 since when has auto tuning singing or more importantly walking back and forth posing with your arms in the air called dancing they do not dance at all and it is an insult to those singers who actually do and in past did dance as well as sing such as madonna or the amazing kate bush , janet jackson and if you check girls aloud dancing it is acutally the same as most of the others ie like kylie and all about the cherographing where they place their arms and do a sort of leg movement . watching clips of cheryl attempting to dance is the best .However as shown she can move now after pasha teaching her moves because at first she was rubbish

I agree, they sounded dreadful and look way too old for their ages. Most of them are in their twenties but they look about 40. Why do they style themselves older than they are?

heard better pub singers than these overpaid stars who cannot sing live

"I thought their performance was awful! Out of tune and they just looked like they were trying too hard. Time to give it up ladies you're nearly 30.- Poochy , hampshire, United Kingdom, 19/11/2012 13:03" - I love how "nearly 30" now constitutes as a reason for them to stop making music. Because Madonna stopped gyrating on stage YEARS ago didn't she?

I thought their performance was great - they are a modern pop band, their singing has to be decent but it's just as important that they can dance, look great, command a stage, get the audience going and dancing and have that elusive 'x' factor, which I really thought they did! Seeing them perform on the Wembley stage I thought I'd love to see them in concert - I would imagine it would be a huge spectacle. Plus the single is to raise funds for Children in Need which can only be a good thing. It's a shame the vast majority of readers here seem to ignore all that and would rather focus on their accents, where/how they were brought up and what meals they have eaten.
