Taylor stunned the audience at the American Music Awards with her powerful performance of I Knew You Were Trouble, a song that is allegedly about her former flame John Mayer, and even changed outfits mid-song.

Swift, 22, won the Favourite Female Country Artist Award, beating out Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood for the prize.

She thanked her fans in her acceptance speech, saying: I'm stoked....I'm really, really happy right now and that's all because of you.'

Masked male dancers surrounded her in a masquerade ball theme but suddenly, in the middle of the number, the mood changed and Taylor ripped off her dress to reveal daring red corset and black tulle skirt underneath.

Strobes flashed as the dubstep beat dropped and The Valentine's Day actress kicked the dancers to the ground.

I like how Gwen does not have to go half naked to sound good.

All that flash and ridiculous costumes cover up lack of talent.

What is it with these singers that they have to dress trashy, never saw Shirley Bassey or Barbra Streisand doing it and even Cher though outrageous didn't look trashy! - Denzil , Cornwall, 19/11/2012 09:48***********************************************************Cher didn't look trashy?

I'm just wondering whether, with all these terrible ex-boyfriends under her belt, Ms Swift has ever considered the problem might be her?!

I am glad she is branching out. I like her classic style only to a point. Sometimes the long skirts and dresses are a little too old for her. I pray that she finds a balance between dressing in a appealing sexier style but keeping it classy.. I think she can find the balance. The gold dress she wore on the red carpet looked lovely . There are many stars that find the right balance. But they are more that don't.

Most music is written about relationships and break-ups. Taylor's music is just literal experiences and not just 'oh this is a song about a boy and a girl' John Mayers song was 'Dear John' written years ago, so you can always believe what you read on here!
