A little help from Martha! Diane Kruger gets set for Thanksgiving as she buys a cookbook while grocery shopping with Joshua Jackson

They spent last year in Cabo San Lucas, opting for warmer weather over the Thanksgiving holiday.

But it seems this Thursday Diane Kruger is preparing to spend the day at home in Los Angeles treating Joshua Jackson to a home-cooked meal.

The 36-year-old was spotted picking up a culinary guide on Sunday as she and her fiancé made a trip to the supermarket.

The pair was seen leaving the Whole Foods store in West Hollywood with a packet shopping cart filled with home necessities.

But the blonde was also toting a copy of Martha Stewart's Baking Handbook, suggesting she is intent on practicing her desert skills before the big day.

The casual pair donned similar navy blue sweaters and jeans, while Diane gave her outfit a funky look with a colourful shirt and dark flat cap.

Joshua, 34, has been busy up in Vancouver, Canada lately filming the final episodes of his show Fringe.

Meanwhile Diane has been working on her new FX pilot The Bridge.

The German star insists she wants to be taken seriously as an actress.

She said: 'I do want to last. I don't want to be just another pretty face in Hollywood. It was very hurtful to read critics saying, "'She has a pretty face but can she actually act?"

'I don't have a lot of experience as an actor and I'm only starting to trust myself to know what I'm doing.'

She had also previously complained about the calibre of parts she was being offered, saying: 'Even now it’s difficult to get work that interests me because you get pigeon-holed very easily in Hollywood, and so I get offered a lot of parts where I’m just supposed to be the eye candy love interest.'

It emerged last month that Diane's latest role will see her fall for Anton Yelchin in upcoming indie romantic comedy 5 to 7.

I love Diane! Looking classy without wearing ridiculous designer clothes (Kim, Miranda) doesn't pose and smile for the paparazzi, just minding her business being around the man she loves. Would like to see more women like her in the DM!!

I try loads of recipes from many TV cooks/chefs. MS recipes are overwhelming good, time and time again. They are a little pricey and intricate, but great. Some, looks so great on TV, but are bland, or down right bad. MS recipes are certainly not for the calorie watcher.
