A representative for Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak has accused her mother of perjury as the family's legal tug-of-war continues.

Kim has been taken to court by her parents over visitation rights to her four children, ages three months to 15 years.

The 34-year-old star has now lashed out at Karen Zolciak, accusing the matriarch of committing perjury by claiming she is indigent in her legal filings, according to RadarOnline.

Karen claims she has not seen her grandchildren since she was thrown out of her daughter's November 2011 wedding to NFL star Kroy Biermann.

The couple share two sons, ages 17 months and three months.

Kim also has two daughters from a previous marriage, ages 15 and 11.

Kim's representative Jack Ketsoyan told Radar she is trying to protect the children 'from their grandparents if the grandparents' only desire is to garner unnecessary and unjustified media attention by abusing their grandchildren for their own selfish reasons.'

The statement came after Karen told the website her daughter is 'using her children as pawns'.

Mr. Ketsoyan said Kim is 'heartbroken and saddened by the derogatory and spiteful statements made by her mother and father, Karen and Joe Zolciak.'

He went further to claim Karen lied about her financial status in court filings for visitation rights to her grandchildren.

'It is clear from the pleadings filed by Mrs. Karen Zolciak that by claiming she is indigent she has committed perjury, a felony in Georgia,' he said.

According to Mr. Keysoyan, Karen could face up to ten years in prison for the crime and a $1,000 fine.

Mr. Ketsoyan also branded the visitation lawsuit a publicity stunt, claiming Karen is using the court case to 'drive up the price of her purported "tell all" book about her daughter'.

Kim is such a mean-spirited woman. I am glad her family is falling apart...

- joanhart , philly, United Kingdom, I'm not saying this is the case here, but, Grandparents have right to see their grandchildren. Kids need stability in their lives and a lot of grandparents provide it. Some kids use their kids to hurt their parents. I would sell my home to fight for my grandchildren.

With parents like these, who needs enemies.

Wasn't Karen Zolciak thrown out of the wedding because she caused a big scene, and even threatened to burn the house down? She is too unstable to be allowed near her grandchildren or anyone's children.

Since when go grandparents get legal rights to their grandchildren? I understand wanting to see your family, but if you are a terrible person and you son or daughter doesnt want you around their children, I think they have that right as parents.

Anyone who names their child Kash Kade deserves to be hauled up in Court themselves.
