She wowed on the red carpet at the American Music Awards on Sunday when she showed off her acre-long legs in a gold dress complete with thigh-high split.

But after the excitement of the glamorous evening, Heidi Klum ended things on a very different note.

The supermodel showed that, like many other people, she loves to tuck into some greasy food after a night out on the town.

The 39-year-old headed to McDonalds while on her way home and decided to treat herself to a cheeseburger and fries.

Heidi proudly posed for a photo with her dinner, while sat beside her pal Desiree Gruber, the executive producer of her hit show Project Runway.

The German-born star shared the snap on her Twitter page along with the words: ‘Finishing off a great night at @theAMAs with a great friend, @desireegruber & a great meal from @McDonalds!’

Hopefully Heidi didn’t drop any ketchup on her stunning brocade dress, which was designed by Alexander Vauthier.

The shimmering dress allowed the leggy blonde to display her famous pins, and it also boasted flesh panels across the bust.

During the ceremony Heidi took to the stage to introduce Pink’s performance of her latest song Try.

But even though she was there for work purposes, that didn’t stop the gorgeous star from having some fun.

She also posted images during the lengthy getting ready process earlier in the day, including being preened by an army of hair and make-up artists.

Heidi proved herself to be quite the trendy star in her gold frock, with Taylor Swift, Jenny McCarthy, Stacy Keibler, Pink and many others all sporting metallics to the awards ceremony.

Wooo so many mean cynical comments people. Come on,Heidi is stunning and at her frame and height i'm sure she does and can afford to indulge OCCASIONALLY.and I'm sure she spends a lot more time in the gym than at fast food places anyway. That's the difference.

Heidi really doesn't have much of a waist. I don't care about breast size, I am only a B cup myself, but a waist is so attractive on a woman, you'd think a supermodel would have a smaller one. I really only envy Heidi's bone structure and legs. And what's up with Keibler? She seems to be getting less attractive since hanging out with Ol' George.

Oh that nose job just went sooo wrong! She used to be so beautiful when she was younger. But that nose job ruined her face. She looks like a witch. That nose is just too small for her face.

Oh god, DM! PLEASE get this annoying dimwit Heidi woman out of our collective sights-a little tiny bit of her goes a looooong looooong way! P.S. Taylor Swift looked exquisite-never seen her look so good-her dress over the top gorgeous. Stacey K's dress waaay too short-she looks older than she is, but she's still too old at 32 or thereabouts to wear such a short dress-not flattering her at all.
