The Football Association have announced the three 2012/13 Second Round FA Cup ties to be broadcast live on ITV1 & ESPN.

ITV has chosen the match between MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon for live coverage.  The match promises to be an intriguing encounter as it will be the first time that the two clubs have ever faced each other in any competition since MK Dons were formed in 2004.

The game will take place at stadium:mk on Sunday 2 December at 12.30pm and will be broadcast live on ITV1.

MK Dons booked their place in the Second Round with a convincing 6-1 win over Cambridge City at the second attempt having been held 0-0 in the first game. AFC Wimbledon also needed a replay but eventually saw off York City 4-3 after extra time to seal their passage.

ESPN’s live Second Round coverage features Alfreton Town v Leyton Orient  and Cheltenham Town v Hereford United.

Conference National side Alfreton chalked up a superb 4-2 win at Wrexham in the First Round with Ben Tomlinson netting a match winning brace after Paul Clayton and Dan Bradley had put The Reds in the driving seat. Leyton Orient left it late to beat Gloucester City 2-0 in their First Round clash on Wednesday after a waterlogged pitch at Whaddon Road had postponed their original fixture.

Alfreton Town v Leyton Orient is on Sunday 2 December at 3.15pm, live on ESPN.

ESPN’s live Second Round coverage continues with Cheltenham Town v Hereford United on Monday 3 December at 7.45pm. Hereford already have a giant-killing under their belt this season having beaten Shrewsbury Town 3-1 in the First Round at Edgar Street. Cheltenham saw off Southern League South & West side Yate Town 3-0 in their First Round tie.

Andrew Hornett, senior executive producer, ESPN, said: “In the last round we sure saw some amazing results on ESPN as Dorchester upset the odds to knock Plymouth out of this year’s competition, as well as the 4-3 extra-time thriller between AFC Wimbledon and York City. As clubs from the lower divisions edge ever closer to a potential tie against a team from the Barclays Premier League, the pressure is sure to intensify and we’re delighted to be able to bring these stories from the grassroots of English football to football fans around the UK.”
