Chris Brown has reportedly canceled a stadium concert in South America after local protests over his 2009 beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna, according to event organizers.

Brown was billed to headline a big show in Guyana on December 26.

But he drew the ire of women's rights groups and opposition lawmakers who said Brown would not be welcome in Guyana three years after his assault of Barbadian superstar Rihanna.

Concert promoter Hits & Jams Entertainment said on Thursday that Brown backed out, citing discomfort with the protests.

However, Brown's representatives denied that he cancelled the gig and told E! News: 'This concert was never confirmed. The promoter is being untruthful.'

In 2009, Brown hit, choked and bit Rihanna during an argument in Los Angeles. He later pleaded guilty to assault.

Since then, Brown has worked to repair his image, undergoing violence counseling and putting out a new album.

He has a duet with Rihanna on her recently released record, Unapologetic.

Looool Too many haters on here :)- Mike, London, United Kingdom, 22/11/2012 23:00 - You may think with your limited comprehension that it is jealousy that motivates people to be outraged by this, personally I loathe anyone who would beat someone that loved them, for me, it's not hate, it's self respect, disgust at domestic violence and a love of humanity. Maybe in your world this sort of violence and abuse of a partner is acceptable, thankfully it's not in mine.

I suspect it was also to do with the fact that only five people had bought tickets to see this no talent excuse for a "singer". p.s. I am guessing at five it may have been less.!

What disgusts me is that whilst Rihanna is lining her pockets with the innocence of our children I feel she has an obligation, because these kids look up to her as a role model, to send out a clear message 'It is unnacceptable for anyone, at any time to be violent toward you and if someone beats you senseless get away', she hasn't done this, she suffered a brutal attack to the head and was fortunate not to have suffered serious head injury problems or death and yet she's sending out a message that it is forgivable, which is totally unforgivable of her as a role model to a generation of young girls. He's just a vile beast.

there was a court order saying they could not go near each other, Rhianna shouldn't get a choice... plus he was put on a five year suspended sentence, meaning he should have been chucked in prison when he got into that club fight... the two of them are glamorising violence, indulging in violence and putting two fingers up to decent society and behaviour... idiots
