They could have easily just threw on a fresh coat of paint on it and called it an HD remake like a lot of other titles, but 343 has more respect for Bungie, Halo and the fans than that. They have added a ton of new features well worth the $40 price tag.

If you have never played Halo: CE before or just want to Pistol 3-Shot your friends once again, Halo: CE Anniversary is a must buy for all Xbox 360 owners, especially those that are fans of Master Chief in any way.

It's just a shame that it didn't have some more time behind it, as it seems that the pressures of a 10-year game anniversary were more important than finessing certain areas. My treasured memories haven't been completely destroyed, but the technical woes make this Halo remake more for the fans than anyone else.

  1. Halo Anniversary, to me, is the Halo game that is the best. It is a remastered edition of a classic game, whose only drawback would have been its old graphics. This remake is a good game with great graphics, and leaves me in anticipation for Halo 4! Expand
  2. NOTE: I do NOT like multiplayer, so I am writing this review on the SINGLE PLAYER campaign ONLY... The first Halo game that I ever played was Halo 3, then I got Halo Reach. I fell in love with both of those games. I loved the weapons, level design, and the uniqueness/creativity of the entire package. I then got Halo 3: ODST. I liked that game as well, but not as good as the previous two. then came Halo Anniversary.... With all the hype around CE and the updated Anniversary edition, I was made to believe that this was one of the best Halo games ever created. but once I got my hands on it, there was really nothing to like about it. The level design was horrible, and extremely repetitive with copy and paste out the a**. the game to me consisted of going to an area, being attacked repeatedly by the flood, and then finding your way to the next IDENTICAL area, and fighting the flood again. wash, rinse. and repeat! there was no real complexity at all to this game. Also to note, that all the levels in Halo CE where bad versions of the AWESOME updated levels on 3 and Reach. so in a sense, I felt like those two games WHERE a remake of CE. The only thing that I really liked about CE Anniversary was its shooting mechanics. I thought it was solid, but when your shooting at the same thing over and over again (flood), it too gets boring fast. To be honest, i may have ranked Halo higher on the list if i played it first, but since i didn't, anniversary was a HUGE let down and I did NOT see any reason whatsoever for this game to ever be remade. I felt like I already had updated versions with 3 and Reach. So, I sold the game right after I finished it. Expand
  3. Halo is a boring game, its time to stop milking the franchise and start working on something fun. This game is more then 10 years old and looks stupid. Expand
