    PS - Oh yeah, in regards to my "Unsigned Artist" spot in Keyboard Magazine...I must say that without CD Baby being in my corner and making my music available to everyone (thus, increasing sales in ways I never would have imagined), it's quite possible that my album "Digital" would've never seen the light of day...if I had to figure out all of that distribution stuff on my own.     would have guessed that digital had picked up a bit more than

    Definately one of the last standing hero's for independent musicians. Very cool read. I've been reading all these books lately by people who follow their heart with great determination and will ( Dean Karnazes, Lance Armstrong). With just one life to live, chasing your dream with passion is the only way I want to go. Derek's words, "Pay close attention to the compass in your gut. Do the work that's most exciting to you, because that's what you will do best" is spot on.
    Finally, for motivational purposes only:

    The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at the least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.

    I got the BT magazine today,great story.
    I graduated from Bezerklee 1990,i took the Rob Rose Music Biz class.
    Those were the days.
    I still perform and record.
    Recently opened a music academy in Colorado.

    Hey Derek!! That was really inspiring. I went to Berklee my self
    and tried to get the best of it. I did Filmscoring and CWP and
    now I'm trying with my solo project making music that is real in
    spite of so many things, I keep believing that there is a way to
    communicate with the world through creation weather it is
    music software, anything. Doing what you love .
    CD Baby is really helping me and Host baby is an amazing tool
    !!!

    Thanks for creating an online music sales website. CDbaby helped increase my debut's popularity in the world wide web, and helped a lot of music fans out there experience all sorts of sounds.
