After being named the world's most valuable brand last year, you might think Coca-Cola would be content with their lot.

But as they venture into the world of fashion with a brand new clothing line unveiled in Rio de Janeiro, it is clear the fizzy drink giant is keen to take their global domination to the next level.

The international beverage company held a fashion show at Fashion Rio in Brazil earlier this month where they showcased a collection of clothing for spring/summer 2013.

Their first fashion line was debuted back in 2008 - but was on the receiving end of much criticism, with some saying: 'Who thinks of this [insert vulgar word for poop here]? They should stick to poisoning us with fizzy drinks from the heavens, that also make long island ice teas great.'

Cedric Azure wrote on hypebeast.com : 'Are they serious…plus the over-the-top Europe stereotypical fashion that no one would wear. I couldn't even call this clothing art…just irrelevant clothing.'

 

Nevertheless, it seems the brand is keen to prove those critics wrong - and clearly believe this line of jazzy prints and statement clothing will do the trick.

The latest collection, designed by Brazlian deisigner Thais Rossiter, is an eclectic mix of retro, sporty and urban designs full of graphic and floral prints.

From glitzy dresses to nylon shorts - with the Coca-Cola trademark branding featuring on many pieces - the new garments are experimental and futuristic - but will fashion followers buy it?

Fashion blogger Lydia Jones said: 'The collection has combined contrast colour-blocking and eclectic prints with sportswear silhouettes to create a unique style.

'This is sure to catch the attention of consumers with a daring and creative style but still achieving a casual look.

'But I'm not sure the collection can compete with the standards of high fashion giants such as Alexander Wang and Sportmax who have already demonstrated this similar style.'

The collection's launch date is yet to be revealed.

Just watched the video and the models look like they are wearing bricks on their feet with those skinny legs and oversized shoes. And Coca-Cola's fashion line. Not somthing I would wear myself but I don't fully understand the fashion world due to one person saying the designs are absolutely awful and another saying their amazing. And to be honest aren't coca-cola big enough it doesn't really matter if they don't make it in the fashion industry.

They are taking over the world....someone said recently that you know Christmas is coming when the Coca Cola advert is on TV....is that how shallow we are......
