In April it was reported that Rihanna was gearing up to play a villainous role in the upcoming blockbuster The Fast and the Furious 6.

But it has now been revealed that Rita Ora has been cast for the part over the Diamonds singer.

Rita, who celebrates her 22nd birthday Monday, apparently impressed during castings outshining the 24-year-old Rihanna.

According to The Sun, Rihanna's hectic schedule clashed with filming commitments which led to the decision to take on Rita.

A source told the newspaper: 'Rihanna impressed movie bosses with her role in Battleship. But schedules didn’t work out and Rita really shone during castings.

The Hot Right Now singer, who has previous acting experience proved to be a big hit with the filmmakers, as the source added: 'They loved her look and her attitude.'

News of losing, what was meant to be, her second blockbuster role is set to rub Rihanna the wrong way according to reports.

Apparently, the Barbados-born performer is not a fan of Rita's 'copycat act'.

The informant continued: 'At first Rihanna thought Rita’s ‘copycat’ act was sweet. But she kicked off after seeing the red dress Rita wore to the VMAs. The umbrella prop annoyed her too.'

Rita is set to star in the movie alongside Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

The sixth installment of the speed racing franchise is set for release in May 2013 but and filming is currently underway.

This time the movie will be set over on this side of the waters with some scenes being on a racetrack in Southend.

how did she beat Rihanna..when Rihanna never had the time for the movie..if she did have time then she could have taken the role...what the hell....sorry DM you might like Rita Ora but America is not warming up to her at all

I think people are forgetting that the Rihanna NOW looks nothing like the Rihanna that first came out. She was this Bajan princess who was getting no recognition which is why she HAD to change her style to stand our. I followed on Rita way before she became famous and she was ALWAYS wearing the stuff she wears now, she always had the blonde hair and red lips. Rihanna decided to change her style a couple years ago, and if anything SHE is the one that's copying because she stole Kelis' (the Milkshake singer) image. So before you comment, take a look at the 2005 Rihanna and compare it to Rihanna now. You'll see how she HAD to change her style & image in order to be relevant.

Tyrese Gibson tweeted a picture of him & The Rock on set in London and said that Fast and Furious 6 was wrapped. They've FINISHED filming and nor him or anyone else involved in the film spoke about Rita or Rihanna and thank God for that. Once again, it's all lies, lies, lies.
