The tears of a clown: James Corden looks a little miserable as he shoots scenes for latest film in a clown suit

We're used to seeing James Cordon clown around, but the comedian took it very literally on Monday.

Dressed in a clown suit and accompanied by fellow actors Mackenzie Crook and Jemima Rooper, the 34-year-old Gavin and Stacey star was on his way to the set of his latest film, One Chance.

And although he was dressed to make people laugh, James didn't seem too pleased about the upcoming scene he was shooting himself.

Chatting to his co-stars as he made his way to the set in London, the star had a worried look on his white painted face.

But he wasn't alone in wearing silly costumes, as his colleague Jemima Rooper also donned a bright pink wig.

It's no wonder James wasn't too happy about his comical get-up as it was a far cry from the night before, when he was dressed in a tuxedo and enjoyed a dinner with Anna Wintour and Judi Dench at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards.

For the upcoming biopic, James crawls into the skin of real life opera singer Paul Potts, who shot to fame after winning Britain's Got Talent in 2007.

Despite his miserable appearance, the funnyman did take to Twitter last week to say how much he is enjoying filming the Harvey Weinstein produced project.

'I am loving this job. #onechance Me tooooooooooo!,' he told his followers.

And it looks like James isn't done with playing dress-up just yet, as he's set to don a Santa costume next for his new Christmas film, School for Santa.

Penned by playwright Richard Bean, who was also responsible for the stage hit One Man, Two Guvnors in which James starred, the movie will chronicle the adventures of a down-on-his-luck dad, who needs to find his inner Father Christmas to win back his kids.

And the actor is definitely excited about his next project. 'All my life I've wanted to make a big family Christmas movie,' he said.

Just been watching the re runs of Gavin & Stacey, hilarious, such a well written sitcom. I enjoyed the interview with James and Robbie, at least when he asked a question he waited for the answer rather than butting in all the time like another interviewer wossy!!

You had an almost identyical article and idetnical comments last week, changing only the pictures. are you that lazy that you are re-runing your driveling speculartion about him being 'less than happy' based on pictures taken over a space of 10 feet? The first time was stupid, this is actually insulting to your readers. Least the re-runs to the tv ok.

You'd look miserable too if you had a Windows phone.

A fat overexcited screaming egotistical blimp in a clown suit. And what is the story exactly?

A deeply unfunny man and - I suspect - not very nice behind the comedy act. The sight of him and Robbie Williams stroking each others' massive egos on TV recently was stomach churning.
