It is the wedding half of Hollywood has been waiting for.

And Brad Pitt revealed he will marry his long-term partner Angelina Jolie 'soon' as he is getting more and more pressure form his children.

Speaking at the premiere of Killing Me Softly in New York on Monday he told People: 'The time is nigh. It's soon. I got a good feeling about it.'

He added: 'I am getting more pressure from my kids, and it is something I want to do within their lifetime, but I also feel like the time has come.'

Pitt, 48, and Jolie, 37, have been together for seven years and have six children together – Maddox, 11, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 6, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 4.

Although the couple have been through so much together, star Pitt said their wedding would still be meaningful after raising their children.

He said: 'I am surprised how much [marriage] meant to me once you had that.'

Brad Pitt revealed all on the red carpet as he swished his hair round like the past twenty years had never happened but paid more attention to his cult hero co-star, Sopranos icon, James Gandolfini.

They also boast another gangster legend in the cast, which is less swaggering Lock, Stock and more recession also hits criminals realism, in the form of Goodfellas star Ray Liotta.

In fact, the actor - who was at his cherubic best in the 1990s - might even have had a straightening iron (the favourite styling tool of the later '90s and early Noughties) run through his barnet.

It was a look he sported in the early half of the fin de siècle decade, at the very beginning of his illustrious career.

His hair was long, blonde and bouncy when he almost stole Ridley Scott's Thelma and Louise with a cowboy cameo and it stayed that way until 1994's Legends of the Fall and Interview with the Vampire, though a darker hue was necessary for the latter.

It was for Se7en a year later that he cut his hair to play a cop and guess what, short-haired Brad was an even bigger winner.

It was this groomed fellow who married Jennifer Aniston in 2000; and who stayed married to her... despite occasional dalliances with a beard and longer length.

(He once said that he couldn't wait to shave his beard so Jennifer could kiss him properly).

Killing Me Softly is another of those films in which Brad 'the artist' tries to tackle matters of import to keep up with his awe-inspiring partner.

Described as a 'bracingly political gangster flick' based on the George V.Higgins novel Cogan's Trade.

The crime thriller, Brad says, is really meant to take a more serious look at American politics.

'We're at a particularly ugly time when we're at such a divide in America, but that divide is not there because everyone is trying to figure out what’s best for the people,' he told Guy Ritchie in Interview magazine.

'It’s there because one side is trying to win out over the other side.'

He also told Guy Ritchie, his director on Snatch, for the interview, he's worked long enough to know exactly the type of person he might allow to pull him away from his role as a dad and future husband.

'...As I get older, it's about the company that I keep,' Pitt says.

'That's the most important thing to me - that if I'm gonna spend however long it takes to make a movie, give up 14 hours a day for however many weeks or months, then it's very important for me to know that I'm working with people who I respect and enjoy and that we're going for something together.

Jolie's been married twice before, he's been married once. Both are clueless regarding commitment, it's just a party to them and has no meaning. What happened to his; "I won't get married until everyone (same sex) can get married" rant? Oh yes, another Brad Pitt commitment gone by the way side.

Assumed they got married a few years back. Now taken a back, they are still not married, do they have a problem with commitment or something to do with their millions?

hahaha sorry the photo of Patrick Stewart and Kanye West!! Who would have thought it? They've been keeping that friendship quiet ;) Looking forward to this, not a fan of Pitt but Gandolfini is awesome.

Can I just say something before all the haters start up their bashing simply because they are still annoyed that Brad Pitt is no longer with Jen Aniston? This weekend Lisa Riley spoke about how she fell in love with a married man and how he temporarily left his wife and 4 kids for her. No-one had any judgements to pass on her. It's well known that Princess Diana broke up at LEAST one marriage, yet people act like she's a saint. The list of celebs who have had affairs is endless. Why, then, are we still so quick to pass judgement on a couple who still deny they actually had an 'affair', have six children together, have been together for longer than they were with their previous partners for, and 'broke up' a marriage with no children? it's the double standards I don't like. I am bored of judging a couple I do not know on what they may or may not have got up to in 2004. If Jolie did get involved with Pitt while he was married, then she is no different from Princess Diana. Strange.

Seriously WHO CARES? All this 'soon' stuff they've been doing for years, it's pathetic. Do they actually believe their relationship matters to anyone?

Kanye ... why is he there too?

He sold his soul when he got involved with her so he may as well go all the way.
