Opera 12.11 Final

We have just released Opera 12.11 and want to thank you for helping us in testing it. Without you Opera would be much less than it is now! This release is mainly a stability and security improvement - we would like to fix even more bugs, but wanted to deliver these bugfixes to everyone outside Desktop Team Blog.

Opera 12.11 RC2First snapshot of Opera 12.12

nahtanoj999 Tuesday, November 20, 2012 9:17:58 AM

Thanks for fixing the 12.10 bug I reported, even though it doesn't seem to have shown up on any of the snapshot changelogs.

geekonwheels Tuesday, November 20, 2012 9:18:32 AM

wahooo thanks!

devloop Tuesday, November 20, 2012 9:24:51 AM

GMail support looks better but there is still a problem with copy/paste : selected text doesn't always stay selected. Still have to keep the left mouse button pushed while command+V.

OSX 10.7.5 Intel

ahoj1234 Tuesday, November 20, 2012 9:43:27 AM

why do you do the same horrible thing again..

I will never forget that you release 12.11 FINAL with the BIG REGRESSION to 12.10. ("can" live with other bugs what are in 12.10 but I hate regressions)
DSK-377950

New tab - write (as fast as you can)
some of first letters doesn´t appears (or appear and disappear..)
w7x64 with this x64 build as USB clean install

edit:
sorry for this. it is related to RC1. in RC2 the reverted fix that cause this bug. sorry again.

as mentioned several times in the right section, the developer should know about the problem

when can we expect OperaNEXT?

Anatoly PermyakovTolyasho Tuesday, November 20, 2012 10:12:14 AM

There's still big problem with Password synch via OperaLink since 12.10. After clean install, in synch process it gives a warning, that passwords from server can't be synchronized with local machine cause my synch-pass somehow changed ( btw, bookmarks synch here is done successfuly) and proposes two ways to solve the problem dialog: 1) enter old password (wich actually never has been changed)so whatever I enter just doesn't fit and fail the proccess 2) load saved passwords from local machine to server, but after clean install I don't have any. So the only way to start is part two here:) But have to start entering everything manually after all.

What are users of Opera on the RC2 12.11 221 comments? They serve nothing since "Opera" released Final 12.11 which is the same as the RC2.
If you are not taking people for c..., it looks strong.
I will eventually go on the side of Chrome.

Mod edit: Please be specific and to the point if you wish to report problems.

Did you actually test this in build 1661? I can't reproduce it at all.

The purpose of a Release Candidate is to prepare for the final release. If the Release Candidate does not contain any bugs that are serious enough to block the release, it is released as a final version.

As such, RCs do serve a purpose: They allow people to test the build before it is actually launched as a final version.

In the future, I recommend using your own blog for such comments. This is not the place for off-topic discussions.

Jungled-ilyich Tuesday, November 20, 2012 10:40:53 AM

Win 7 x64, Opera 12.10, 12.11 x32/x64 clean USB installation

1. AdBlock 1.0.6, NoAds Advanced are unable to load subscriptions
2. Opera process often remains in memory after closing.

CryioAcryion Tuesday, November 20, 2012 10:41:50 AM

"We wanted to deliver these bugfixes to everyone outside Desktop Team Blog".

If these are your real intents then please-please-please keep releasing hot-fixes or small incremental patches or whatever do you want to call then. Opera needs to recover in a lot of departements and fast!

Forseeing a bad-ass 12.12 in the near future? bigsmile

Confirmed on MacOSX 1.7.5, since few builds…

CryioAcryion Tuesday, November 20, 2012 10:44:08 AM

Because this repost is a good reminder folks:

I really do hope, if this is a stability release, then Opera 12.20 will be a bug fixing release, and 12.30/.50 will be a HWA acceleration stabilization and final release.

That would make Opera 12.xx the best branch you ever had.

• Requiered great HTML5 support. Check.
• Also functional HTML5 support, not just checking a list. NEEDED.
• Great compatibility. Not up to IE9, Chrome, Firefox, but your're getting there.
• Great stability. I don't feel the improvements over the years in this category. Still locks and crashes without reason.
• Out-of-process plugins. Check.
• Multi-threading. Strongly needed.
• x64. Check.
• Hardware acceleration. Needed. For me at least HWA works better than software.

Another thing. I think it's normal to expect in version 13 some major changes:
• better compatibility
• faster speed
• ram optmisations
• flawless working Themes
• no more UI problems
• no more favicon problems
• a redesign of the UI. You are using this one (and I'm sure you will continue to use all the way up to 12.50/.60) since v11. Freshen things up a bit
• a functional Metro UI Opera app. By January 2014 this should be up and running.

Satan D. Lucifersupertrol Tuesday, November 20, 2012 10:50:32 AM

is this a regression from 12.10 or new bug?

when enabling this

opera:config#Extensions|DelayedScriptExecution

sites load instantly(super fast) but when visiting sites with tons of scripts(i dont have any example sites and it seems random)the browser hangs/freezes then never responded and have to kill the opera.exe process.

can someone confirm? or is just me having this problem?

W7 SP1 system of course.

EDIT: or is this how DSE supposed to work?if so why is it hangs/freezes the browser when enabled?

I still have Progress bar ''tails''. Also, pages with a lot of Flash content load slowly and have a freezing effect. Can't you somehow compress all that Flash data ?

And why can't I see links over the mouse pointer ?

Can't confirm. Win7x32

Passie Tuesday, November 20, 2012 11:09:56 AM

Seriously a final build ? lol
It seems that Opera isn't even reading the comments made from earlier RC posts.
As written please have a look at the users which are reporting missing menu bars, missing close button and fullscreen opera issues!

Scottn1 Tuesday, November 20, 2012 11:12:43 AM

I'm sorry to be blunt but I give up. Another "Final" gone out just to get it out.

Within 15 minutes of using this, AGAIN I have a NSL. I can't express my frustration enough regarding this problem with Opera. Like nails on a chalkboard every time I have to see the last few elements not load and the spinning circle that I have to manually take time out to stop the page loading.

A long time Opera fan. But it is dead to me now until this is fixed and I don't have to deal with these like I don't in other browsers.

Clean install without any extensions? Most NSL problems are because of over zelous content blockers, and serverside problems. if it does it on a clean install, then it should be reproducible by others...

Confirmed throughout a couple of 12.11 builds. Windows 7, 32bit

vladisslav Tuesday, November 20, 2012 11:21:53 AM

Same as RC2.
Unusable.
I'll use 12.02 until regressions will get fixed.

7l2um Tuesday, November 20, 2012 11:42:52 AM

The final was released again after all without correcting most of the bugs we reported with this blog.
DSK-351602 is not fixed at all. (IME: When the Control key is pressed while inputting Japanese characters on Linux, the characters inputting are committed.)
Typing Japanese using the control key is not possible in text areas.
Debian Squeeze x86_64

Petr Hlavacpetrhlavac Tuesday, November 20, 2012 11:51:07 AM

Why was my comment referencing to the latest usable snapshot for a particular feature deleted!?

Nevermind, in the case you're one of those lucky people who have whole browser control logic based on folded hotkeys that may start even with Alt (!), this is your build: 1658

Satan D. Lucifersupertrol Tuesday, November 20, 2012 12:09:58 PM

Tomorrow build

"Tired of 12.11 already?"

"What's better than 12.11? Why, 12.12 of course!

Higher is always better, and we thought we'd work on inflating our version number a bit. That seems to be popular these days (and I'm sure we'll catch up soon enough at this rate).

So we decided to gather up a bunch of fixes that didn't quite make it into 12.11, and publish them now for testing.

lol:D

alekksander Tuesday, November 20, 2012 12:10:02 PM

how can i check for crash details if there is no crash report? is there a way?

ir193 Tuesday, November 20, 2012 12:16:02 PM

Thanks for your hard work
But I think all "final" is more like a snapshot, after Opera10.50.
I miss the days before Opera 9.64, it was really robust.
But it has always been a excellent software. Thank you

Sasharezky7 Tuesday, November 20, 2012 12:17:21 PM

I hope, version 12.12 will be very, very stable in 2013 y/psmurf

Michael Maierschwiebie Tuesday, November 20, 2012 12:26:05 PM

12.11 is better than 12.10 and fixes some serious bugs (e.g. SPDY and GMail). So it's right to release it.

Try logging out of Opera Link, then log in again using "tolyasho" as user name instead of "Tolyasho"... I had exactly the same problem and it was fixed when I used "mossman" and not "MossMan"!

That's space limitation, not actually a bug.
Well at least you got translation, that's what matters.
