Four new Iron Man 3 images released

Rebecca Hall looks beaten up

Marvel has released a quartet of new images from their next superhero epic, Iron Man 3.

The main new thing here is our first glimpse of Rebecca Hall, who plays scientist Maya Hansen - and looks like she gets involved in more than her fair share of scraps.

We also get a good look at the Iron Patriot armour and a close-up of that worryingly-destroyed Mark VII mask.

Set after Avengers Assemble, Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black and sees Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) going up against his most formidable foe yet: the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley).

Check out the images below…

Iron Man 3 opens in cinemas in the UK on 26 April 2013.

For all those, including the TF writers, it can't be Iron Patriot. It's War Machine in a new paint job, looking like Patriot. Patriot is Norman Osborn, so I can see it being a legal battle to use Iron Patriot with Sony (Even though, technically it is a (Dark) Avengers character - connected to a Spider-man character, so should be easier to get at by Marvel. But Sony would prob still fight it.) Anyway, I digress.... It IS War Machine... Look at the name stencilled onto the breastplate. If it turns out that they have twisted Marvel storylines again to use him as Patriot, I will eat my words, but right now, to me, the evidence clearly points to War Machine.

@BobTheSkull, it is The Iron Patriot. Marvel announced it themselves that it will be referred to as such. Obviously they must own the rights to it, although it's suppose to be Osborn perhaps the fact the suit was originally created by Stark allows Marvel to keep the rights to it. Also it makes sense to have Rhodey as the Patriot, the army would want to use him as a flagship, having him painted in patriotic colours and calling him the Iron Patriot would be better for public appeal than being called War Machine.
