"Hey Bloodshot,
Just wanted to send a million thanks your way for The Bottle Let Me Down. You've made it safe for me to venture back into the minivan. I knew it was a winner when my 8 year old daughter (she of the Backstreet 'N Spears, etc...) said "Hey dad, do you have anything else by The Cornell Hurd Band?" Damn near brought tears to my eyes.
Your pal, John"

Over the years we’ve seen so many of our fans sucked into the swirling vortex of parenthood. One night we’re closing the bar together and nine months later they are never heard from again. The Bloodshot crew is here to tell you that we can relate and don’t despair. Many of our artists have kids and it hasn’t stifled their urge to get down. These parents prove that having jr. and even his little brother or sister doesn’t have to be the end of their social lives. So what if you have to perch the little tyke on the end of the bar? Give ‘em a few pretzels to suck on and you’re good to go.

So much of children's music coming out today is B-A-D. It's boring and it insults the intelligence and creativity of both child and parent alike. On this release we hit you with twenty-six songs that don’t suckle (get it?! Ha ha hah). Everyone in the mini van will enjoy these songs full of cowbells, wolf calls, banjos, bongos, hiccups and rubber duckies intended for the amusement of children and arrested adolescents everywhere.

Bringing them to life are a dazzling array of artists like, Rosie Flores, Kelly Hogan, Alejandro Escovedo, Robbie Fulks, The Handsome Family, Waco Brothers, Jim & Jennie and the Pinetops, Asylum Street Spankers, Rex Hobart, Split Lip Rayfield, Freakwater, Kim Lenz, Jane Baxter Miller and more. Together they tell us it’s tough to be a kid sometimes, bath time is fun, bodily functions are funny and it’s good to be different.

Before you even know it, your little tyke is going to be all grown up and coming home with the latest record from Miley Cyrus or some American Idol hack and you’ll be left wondering how many other ways you’ve failed them as a parent. Don’t let that happen. Instead, think of this as their musical "Headstart" program. See you on the playground.

Here's what some fans have to say...

"Just wanted to rave about The Bottle Let Me Down comp. My daughter is two and love, love, loves this album. She actually told us NOT to play the Disney CD her grandmother got her so she could listen to The Bottle... And for that, I thank you all! More, please!" – Scott

"This CD has brought our little family back from the brink of insanity. Mommy, Daddy, and the kids hop to it every morning." - Heather

And now, a word from the writers...

"A must for everyone who had a childhood and/or likes music. There is not a lame track on the disc. I could go on for days about it, but you are just going to have to buy a copy for yourself and one for each sibling." —Chicago Arts and Entertainment

"Just what do the Kurt and Courtney of the playground set have on their portable CD players? Why The Bottle Let Me Down of course! Children's music never sounded so hip." —Stereo-Type

"Finding children's music that engages kids but doesn't drive their parents batty is no easy task. Bloodshot Records has risen to the challenge." —Chicago Sun-Times

"Simply put: there's nothing in this collection that lets the listener down. And I'm hoping that enough of this will rub off on my niece and her fellow kindergartners so that we can avoid a grim future of Toby Keith, boy bands, and American Idol." —Pop Matters
