Though his career began more than four decades ago with American blues, Taj Mahal has broadened his artistic scope over the years to include music representing virtually every corner of the world. What ties it all together is his insatiable interest in musical discovery.
The British Blues boom in the late 60’s gave birth to John Mayall and the Bluebreakers. Mayall met his soulmate in Eric Clapton, who had quit the Yardbirds in favor of playing the blues. This historic union culminated in the first hit album for the Bluesbreakers and resulted in worldwide legendary status...the rest is history.
