Glad to see 'Warrior' as the main picture for this feature, disgracefully neglected film. Was fantastic!

Fair play for putting Animal Kingdom so high, always thought it was under-rated. Bit weird how half of these originally got mediocre to bad reviews first time round, though

It's not been a bad year for films, gems like Drive, Hannah, Submarine, Animal Kingdom, Super 8 (guilty pleasure) and Snowtown, but in the same breath their has been some right c**p like Thor, Transformers 3, and Attack the Block (which I really wanted to be great but was just flat)

What are the odds CrazyFilmGuy is a teen? Beastly? Three Musketeers? Transformers? Season of the Witch? Green Lantern? I am Number 4? Really??? I liked films like that when I was 15 as well, but for an adult that list is pretty poor.

@CrazyFilmGuy Whoa! Easy there fella. I have to be honest; I agree with MrScary - that list does kinda sound like a kid wrote it. Your reply didn't really prove much else either. Red State and Hobo with a Shotgun - hmmm... growns ups like them *too*? Grown ups who also liked Real Steel, maybe. Anyway, each to their own. Nothing wrong with a 29 year old watching kids films I suppose. As long as he's on his own.

Why in the "hot cast" for X-Men First Class only Fassbender and Lawrence are mentioned? How about James McAvoy? It's shocking how one of the greatest young British actors is ignored by British magazines.

Really want to see Drive, Warrior, 50/50, Crazy Stupid Love, Contagion and Real Steel The films ive seen this what i think are the best would be X-Men:First Class, Harry Potter:DHP2, Thor, Captain America, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Attack The Block, Tangled, The Fighter, The Kings Speech, Limitless, The Hangover Part 2 (i thought it was great and funny don't care what anyone says), Souce Code, Transformers:DOM (ive always likes the films and the action scenes were as great as always), Black Swan (i'm sure it was out in 2010 though?), 127 hours and Johnny English Reborn. Most overrated was Bridesmaids not because it was a bad film because it wasn't it was just KW character was selfish, annoying and a complete b*tch to he best mate and apart from the plane scene most of the comedy was just bland and not as funny as it should been. Saying that ive got on Blu-Ray because it got it cheap. Worst film ive seen this year is Green Lantern because of rubbish action scenes, rubbish plot and bad acting from everyone other then Mark strong.

Really pleased to see the Contagion got a mention. Don't know if its just me but thought the film kinda slipped by to quietly, even more so when you look at the cast it had (4 Oscar winners). Espcially loving see the talented Jennifer Ehle popping up in it, hadn't personally seen her in anything since her role as Miss Elixabeth Bennet in the BBC's production of Pride And Prejudice way back in 1995, and there she is appearing in 2 films that have made it into this lists tops 50 films, even more shocking to me was that shes actually American I always thought she was British. ps.....loving the "Bonus points for casting Gwyneth Paltrow as the monkey" bit, made me chuckle.

There are many films I have seen and a lot more, I have not had the chance to see yet which is even more exciting since I will be seeing some great films. I really enjoyed Drive and I am getting the feeling that people either loved it or hated it with a passion. I also enjoyed Hannah it had a special charm that sucked me in quite easily. Dish has me traveling a lot for work this year so I will be enjoying my favorite pastime from my laptop it appears. Luckily, I did investigate and decide to go fro the Blockbuster@ Home service so I can live stream movies while I'm on the road. Some folks are a little bit luckier watching movies by mail on their giant HDTV's or playing games but with my sling adapter connecting to my DVR and internet I will still be enjoying my favorite passion. I am watching "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" tonight and I'm excited, I have wanted to see this film for a while.

Really? Tree of Life second best movie? I like a weird movie as much as the next nerd, but this was way over the top and it managed to make strange boring. I think it's one of the worst movies I've seen, even if the visuals were "interesting" and the music was done by a genius. I fell asleep. Boring, bad, confusing, unnecessarily long... I know critics just LOVE to say movies like this are classics and so on, but I'm pretty certain it will be soon forgotten except by the weirdest cinema buffs.

I have joined this web page for the sole reason of discrediting the "number 1" movie of 2011. I don't know how anyone could have have watched such a dull, uneventful piece of trash and found it anything but the WORST movie ever made and I include the cinematic "treat" spy kids 2. Please please PLEASE for the love of God, do not waste any of your life trying to watch if you haven't already done so. Simon Kinnear, you are a d****e! Stop writing blogs about movies as you seem to have no idea what makes a movie watchable. I am actually angry as you are wasting peoples lives with your delusions! Bite me! Kidfos

To the writer, i know this was written before The Girl with Dragon Tattoo cam out but list needs to be redone and that movie needs to be at the top of the list. The cinematography, acting, script, pace, camera shots, and everything else was near perfect and knowing David Fincher we kinda already knew it should be higher than 50 even before it came out. Oh and @jhamarwalters i was going to delete my comment cause i kinda understand what you mean, i should have put SOME of these movies are great lol. Thats my bad but SOME of these movies need to be here but agree that they need to bi higher on the list and then some just not here at all. Really though what were some of your favorite movies that should be here?
