Sub Pop has officially lost it’s voice. Since when do we rely on ‘headlines’ instead of ‘Dear Abby’ for our record needs. Your rants will truly be missed (even if we are only skimming).

Slackers everywhere breathed a sigh of relief at the knowledge that they could again go back to not paying attention and watching Seinfeld reruns. In lieu of flowers, the family of AFOPA has requested that donations of Record Store Day Items be made to this network.

Wait, what? Who died? The Dum Dum Girls? No way! They were hot, that sucks! My day’s ruined now. Hold on, it’s Easter, maybe they will resurrect. I hope so, I love them..

Born sometime in 2008 in the heart of Seattle, WA, “A Form of Paying Attention” gave reason to many of its devoted to keep checking subpop.com in the first few days of each month. As one of the most noticable sections of the website, AFOPA informed Sub Pop fans of new releases, hinted of upcoming shows, and even rewarded showy, elaborate commenters for their creatity and knowledge of themes found in their favorite music. A Form of Paying Attention is survived by its siblings, Shopping Cart, the Tour Page, and FAQ. In lieu of flowers, “A Form of Paying Attention” would have preferred that you simultaneously support your local record store and favorite label by buying a Sub Pop title on April 27th.

‘A Form of Paying Attention’ was a Jamaican-Canadian heavyweight boxer and champion who fought as a professional from 1976 until 2000. This website column briefly held the WBC heavyweight title in 1986, before losing it to Mike Tyson on November 22, 1986, by a TKO in the second round. He was the last man to fight Muhammad Ali winning a 10 round unanimous decision in Nassau, Bahamas on December 11, 1981.

We say goodbye to A Form of Paying Attention, known to friends and family as the Amazing Reverse Attention Whore, giving things, rather than taking them. They will be sorely missed until something more awesome comes along.

i never read your column until the day i joined twitter and saw the sub pop post. well all i can say is if everyday were like this, with so many opportunities to win, accompanied by the loss of A Form of Paying Attention, i would be quite torn the rest of my life. RIP

It is very great sadness that I inform you of the slow demise of “A Form of Paying Attention”. In its honor there will be an Irish wake this Saturday at your local independent record store. This wake will be know as “Record Store Day”. So don’t fret be merry and celebrate independent music.

Went to record store day. First guy in the shop and no “SP20: Casual Nostalgia Fest” Was really looking forward to being well nostalgic from when I was down in Seattle for SP20.

maybe next year we could have nirvana’s love buzz 7" re-released
