I was about to protest against the accusation that we of the general public have too short an attention span, but then I saw a cat running around outside which made me forget what I was going to say. Sad to see this bit go though :(

In Memory of A Form of Paying Attention..
Sub Pop has officially lost it’s voice. Since when do we rely on ‘headlines’ instead of ‘Dear Abby’ for our record needs. Your rants will truly be missed (even if we are only skimming).

You would be sadly missed if it weren’t a contest and you were really gone…

A Form of Paying Attention
SEATTLE, WA — A Form of Paying Attention died April 2, 2010 after a long battle with cancer.

AFOPA R.I.P.
A Form Of Paying Attention, the renowned information supplier, sturdier than even the Internet itself, has passed away of unnatural causes. Slackers everywhere breathed a sigh of relief at the knowledge that they could again go back to not paying attention and watching Seinfeld reruns. In lieu of flowers, the family of AFOPA has requested that donations of Record Store Day Items be made to this network.

What was that again?
Wait, what? Who died? The Dum Dum Girls? No way! They were hot, that sucks! My day’s ruined now. Hold on, it’s Easter, maybe they will resurrect. I hope so, I love them..

The Sudden Passing of A Form of Paying Attention
Born sometime in 2008 in the heart of Seattle, WA, “A Form of Paying Attention” gave reason to many of its devoted to keep checking subpop.com in the first few days of each month. As one of the most noticable sections of the website, AFOPA informed Sub Pop fans of new releases, hinted of upcoming shows, and even rewarded showy, elaborate commenters for their creatity and knowledge of themes found in their favorite music. A Form of Paying Attention is survived by its siblings, Shopping Cart, the Tour Page, and FAQ. In lieu of flowers, “A Form of Paying Attention” would have preferred that you simultaneously support your local record store and favorite label by buying a Sub Pop title on April 27th.

Record Label Website Column Dies at 2; Record Nerds Left Googling
‘A Form of Paying Attention’ was a Jamaican-Canadian heavyweight boxer and champion who fought as a professional from 1976 until 2000. This website column briefly held the WBC heavyweight title in 1986, before losing it to Mike Tyson on November 22, 1986, by a TKO in the second round. Paying Attention No More
We say goodbye to A Form of Paying Attention, known to friends and family as the Amazing Reverse Attention Whore, giving things, rather than taking them. They will be sorely missed until something more awesome comes along.

Inattention kills popular music column.
SEATTLE, Wash. – Sub-popular Internet column A Form of Paying Attention passed away peacefully on April 2, 2010 surrounded by its fans and random people who clicked on a link and had no idea how they ended up there. The blog was two years old. A Form of Paying Attention — affectionately known to close friends and family as AFOPA — was born in Seattle February 4, 2008 to L. Swain and SubPop.com. In 2009, AFOPA set a…

In loving Memory
Lets pay homage to one who understood us youth. Though in the season of dire she wavered much like we all had, in our convictions and our sights, set to the tips of foothills.
The beam of it set apart and lo one night in a garage turned to studio the double barrel shot.
Not even El Douche had the “right to rock” that dirty evening.

Hey guys, it's May now!
Shouldn’t this be updated with a whole new month’s worth of goings-on, derring-do and possibly other stuff where a hyphen may be necessary?
Oh yeah, I forgot. Bugger. I’ll just go play outside for a bit instead…

Um… Is anyone paying attention? Did anyone win?
by everpress @ May 21, 2010, 4:27 PM
Yes!
A very nice guy won, but I can’t remember his name right now, and it’s Saturday night and I’m checking in on work. See, I do care! ALSO—things were crazy busy this month and I never got a chance to put up a contest for this month but there will def be one for June!
