Tomb Raider @ NYCC!

The last stop on my epic Tomb Raider Tour is New York Comic Con. I’m really excited to return to the big apple, especially because of some stellar plans we have for the show. Details below!

Hands-On Hunting Demo
The Hunting demo makes another stop on its world tour. You can get your hands on one of many Tomb Raider kiosks at the Square Enix booth, #1802.

Tomb Raider Archery Experience
This is the one I’m particularly excited for. Our awesome team at SEA has planned out an archery activity within the Javits Center itself. Attendees can test their skills with three arrows, shooting at themed targets that can be taken home as a souvenir. If you manage to hit a bulls-eye, you’ll be treated to a limited edition lithograph! The experience will be supervised by the New Jersey School of Archery, so we’ll have experts about for tips should you need them.

Thursday, October 11: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Friday, October 12: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday, October 13: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday, October 14: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Endurance Crew Photos
While you’re at the Archery Experience, make sure to take a photo for the road! Join the Endurance crew with your own unique badge at the booth. You’ll then be able to share it with friends on Facebook and Twitter.

NYCC Art Auction for Child’s Play Charity
Also taking place during the convention will be a series of charity auctions, the proceeds of which will go to Child’s Play. Fan works, signed lithographs and original hand-drawn art by project leads have been gathered from Square Enix properties including Sleeping Dogs, Deus Ex, Hitman, and Tomb Raider to contribute to the cause. The auctions will run through Saturday, October 13. Visit the Child’s Play eBay store (supported through eBay Giving Works) to bid.

Other Initiatives
As always, we’ve got some activities going on at the booth, such as Square Enix Members sweepstakes, live broadcasting, and so on. Keep your eyes out on the blog for specifics!

Square Enix Art Auction to Benefit Child’s Play Charity

Hello all! Time for some really exciting news! Over the past few months we’ve been organizing a Square Enix art auction to benefit a fantastic cause - Child’s Play Charity. 

Established in 2003, Child’s Play is a game industry charity focused on improving hospital stays for youth through the donation of toys and games. Aided by the gaming industry and community, the initiative has raised millions of dollars to benefit their network of worldwide hospitals.

Square Enix is lending its support through an art auction coinciding with New York Comic Con. Key pieces of art have been gathered from AAA Square Enix franchises, including selections from Sleeping Dogs, Deus Ex, Hitman, and of course Tomb Raider! Contributions include fan works, signed lithographs, and original, hand-drawn art by project leads. The auctions will run through Saturday, October 13, with all proceeds going to Child’s Play.

Tomb Raider Specifics

As for what Tomb Raider is offering, the first is an original illustration with acrylics by prolific Tomb Raider fan artist Priscillia Thomas. Next up is an original ink drawing by Tomb Raider Senior Art Director Brian Horton, and the third piece is an autographed digital print by TR concept artist Brenoch Adams.
