With the squad confirmed and in full preparation for the tournament, the Siya crew can reveal the squad numbers the players will be sporting for the Afcon.
First choice goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune will be wearing jersey number 16, while Wayne Sandilands sports the number one jersey.
National team captain, defender Bongani Khumalo, will have the number 14 on his back, while central defensive partner Siyabonga Sangweni sports number 21.

Our administrators chose GI ahead of the rest bcos they blived in his vision, mind u they knew fully well that he does not bliv in youngsters (hence the omision of the likes of Gamaldine, R Williams, Nomandela e.t.c). I bliv they are focusing on the short term rather than the long term goal trying very hard to erase our memory of the now famous "dance of shame"... No coach in his ryt mind will liv playrs hu cn do a job 4 him. They all want to emulate the great C Barker and win AFCON or do even better that him and one day reach the semi-finals of a WC... Bafana all the way... Can we please now support the chosen players and stop forcing issues that we cannot change. (Nb: my opinion)

@MANGETHE, it is no longer about selection now. With the exception of Jali and mybe Teko. Hu else was GI supposed to call upon? He tried Myeni hu failed dismally, even Klate didn't make the grade. Matlaba n Manyisa were also in doupt bt in the last game b4 the squad announcement they raised their hands and were selected. R we nw 2 bliv that GI like other coaches b4 him are all stupid? Ask yoself this q, "Y r these plyrs bin continually overlooked nd de same "failures" bin given preference?" Our plyrs never failed, we just do nt score goals (Pitso said it, and has been proven ryt)! How many chances were squandered in all our games? In our last game how many opportunities did Norway have to get b4 they scored? Bafana all the way!

If Gavin Hunt was the bafana coach 80% of the squad would be the same as GIs squad becos these are South Africa's best players in every position. That is why GI , Santana and Lielle chose the same players. Its a hard pill to swallow but its the truth. So stop wyning n complaining!

Never in the history of our foodball have I seen such divisions. Thanks to GI for his pathetic selection influenced by favouritism. You'd have to drug me to make me believe that the players were selected on merit. Gordon hates Pirates with a passion. In the past two seasons he voted for players who did not meet the criteria for the \"Player of the year catagory\" just to punish us for winning the Trebles. Today supporting my Bafana Bafana has been made very difficult by GI. I'll try my best to be patriotic. I'm not sure if I'll succeed.
