Halo 4 Specialization Availability News

A while back, 343i announced that all eight specializations would be available to any person who played Halo 4 online before Nov. 20th. Since today is now the 21st, many people have been wondering when they will unlock the other six specializations. BS Angel clarified this info in a tweet.

For those wondering, people who purchased the limited edition of Halo 4 have had access to all eight specializations since day 1.

Something terrible happened to me today, and I’m going to post this comment hopefully preventing any of you from make the same awful mistake. So I was a level 49 and I was just about to reach 50, I needed just 2000 exp and I would rank up. Turns out, all left over exp from level 49-50 is just thrown in the trash, you don’t get to keep any of that. So if you get 7000 exp from a match, and you only need 2000 to rank up, you will forever lose that 5000 extra exp. Now I didn’t get 7000 exp from that match, no, it turns out I beat the monthly challenge that very game, so I lost 18000 exp! Thank you for your flawed system 343!

Thanks for the heads up. And sorry to hear about that man :/ hopefully when it gets patched you can get your XP Back. In fact, i recommend you contact 343 customer service about the issue. Hopefully they will fund your XP Back to you.

This isn’t a bug, the system is working as intended. Once you hit SR – 50 you chose a specialization and after you chose then you can start earning exp again to rank up your specialization.The reason you don’t get any exp after 50 is because Spartan Iv is considered a specialization in and of it self.

And that is IMO flawed, they should save that extra exp and add it in when you choose a spec, what happened to me and I imagine a few other people is total bull crap!

im sorry to say but ur obviosly new to halo. in prev games you got 1 xp for a win and -1 xp for a loss to it determind if you are good or not lol be thankfull they changed it to this system its not crap it just stops boosters and people with no life… just relax and enjoy the game rather than the leveling up play each game as i comes.. peace

Screw off! I’ve been playing Halo for 6 years! I’m not new to it! And I know how you leveled up in Halo 3! Halo 3′s exp system, had nothing to do without good you are! Are you sure you aren’t new to Halo?

No, what happened is, when you level from 49-50, you have to enlist in a spec before getting anymore exp. So if you need 1000 exp to rank from 49-50, and you get 2000 exp from the match, you will lose 1000 exp. So I can still rank up.

Even with this info it’s even still a pain in the ass because you have to resort to Spartan Ops Spamming and Forging for exact xp amounts (as opposed to random amounts from War Games) when you get close to finishing out a specialization so as not to lose any XP.

Man i’m sooo glad i preordered the game and go all this sweet stuff unfortunately i can only play weekends now so it’ll be hard getting to a super high rank. I plan on completing one specialization though guranteed (level 43 right now)

Call me a complainer but I think this actually deems a “gamer riot” for once. Some of us literally can’t gain anything else in the game while those of us that paid a bit of extra money (roughly $50) can. They paid well over reg price for early access to stuff that should be day 1 access to anyone that buys the game…EVER. If I hadn’t already gotten a copy and played before the 20th…I wouldn’t have gotten it knowing what I know now. I really think it’s crap that anyone just starting to play after the 20th will be at, any amount of, a disadvantage. I don’t care what anyone says…Wheelman makes a huge difference. I take out vehicles left and right in Big Team and I can tell a clear difference between someone that does and doesn’t have that ability.

Guys don’t no life this game. My brother no lifed it and has been a level 70 four the past week. I have been level 70 for 4 days and it sucks. I really enjoy this game and think the new halo trilogy is going set the bar for games to come. For the code thing, I know a lot of people make up fake email account for their gold membership and I feel sorry for you.
