I'm a bit of a house music fan, and Faithless arrived on the scene in the mid-90s just as the genre was getting popular, and I followed them all through my teens. Much to my disappointment, the band split up last year. I can't even count the amount of times I've seen them live, but I was there at Passing The Baton in Brixton for the final gig. The band is fronted by Maxi Jazz, a Buddhist born and raised in South London, and I've always been drawn to the band's lyrics and musical variety. If you've never listened to a track then start with the Reverence album and "Salva Mea" or "Insomnia," it'll hook you straight in if you’re a house fan.

I've always been fascinated by Salvador Dalí's surrealist art, and his eccentric nature is captured perfectly in a classic silent film by Spanish director Luis Buñuel. Written by and starring Dalí, Un Chien Andalou was released back in 1929 and runs for just 16 minutes. Watch it over your lunch break and prepare to be taken back to a fascinating time before the Hollywood era.

Football (or soccer, if you’re in the states) is a big deal in the UK, and Arsenal’s my team. We haven’t been doing very well lately — it’s been seven years or so since we won a trophy — but I’m hopeful for a breakthrough soon. Incidentally, Arsenal is pretty much the unofficial team of The Verge, with myself, Aaron, David, and our intern Zenonas all fervent gunners.

I recently discovered Brighton-based graffiti artist Snub23. I purchased one of his stencil on steel pieces, a huge robot, and it looks over me as I work daily. Two other particular artists stand out for me: Banksy and Blu. Banksy, obviously, has achieved worldwide fame thanks to a number of notable pieces mocking governments or large corporations. Blu is based in Italy and is known for taking over entire buildings with animated murals (you've probably seen some of his his video work like this).

As a writer I spend a lot of time at my keyboard and on the internet, but sometimes I want to just wrap myself in a blanket and jump into a cage just like this dog.
