Get counseling...his stress is not realistically about money- and if his behaivor was similar when you were working, it's about something else. Life is too short..try to fix this.

This seems like a normal reaction to a confusing situation. My parents were divorced and the transitions were hard!

Any advice? We've just been trying to validate her feelings while staying consistent in rules, being clear about schedules and transitions, and trying to act calm & confident with the transition (since lingering at daycare drop offs have always made it worse)...

I think you are doing the best you can. Allow her a way to express her anger. I kept it in and i think that was so much worse for me long term. She will learn her mom and dad both love her and will never leave her.

They will take good care of him!! Can you join him later in the day? It would be good if you could hear diagnosis & treatment plan yourself since he will probably have a tough time focusing and retaining what they say.

His blood pressure tends to be on the low side of normal. I think it was 115/58 when they checked. His blood sugar levels were normal too.

That's very tough!! What are you doing right now? If it makes you feel any better, they probably gave him phenobarbital to quiet the brain activity & prevent seizure activity. If he's never had that before, it's probably made him very very sleepy. He will most likely be asleep for the next few hours. They will do blood work & an EEG and maybe some other tests... Hopefully by the time you can get there, they will have a better idea of what's going on...

Also all the tests are just to be sure there isn't anything underlying that caused the seizure. It sounds like a bad migraine & he will need meds to take at first sign of a migraine (if that doesn't work, meds to prevent migraines) and he will respond well!!

OP here.....looked up phenobarbital and it says it can take a long time for it to leave your system. Does that mean he'll be unconscious most of the day?

It depends on how much they give him. He will definitely be drowsy (even if they don't give phenobarb, he will be drowsy from the migraine, seizure, or other meds).

Socialize more and fill your mind with the possibility of new friends. Then you give off a vibe that you're moving on, and you'll feel better about yourself when you're around her. Also, be cordial, don't let her know that you're hurt.

YES. We did. We lived overseas in a condo on the ocean. The building only had 2 floors. For more than a year, no one lived above us. Bliss! Then a clumping couple moved in and had parties on their upstairs balcony all the time. We loved living there, but couldn't take the noise. We moved--to the top floor of a building.

Our new board president developed an intense hatred of the former one -- who ended up getting cancer. The new one filed lawsuits against the old one, wasting 1000s of dollars. Every association meeting turned into a fight. I was so glad to get out of there.

I work in a law firm. If it were me, I would have said that sounds like more than a one-person job in that time frame, let's get some additional hands involved. I have noticed over the years that the people who get burned out and quit are the ones who never say no and don't speak up for themselves (in a diplomatic, professional way of course). I realize sometimes you can't say no, but I hope at least sometimes you do. And if one of those times you really can't say no and the work really is critically important, I hope you've let your husband know that if wants you to keep earning an income, the two of you as a team will have to find a way for you to get this assignment done.
Also, if you have come to the conclusion that you won't be able to finish the assignment, and you agreed to do it, you need to let the person who assigned it know asap so he/she is not blindsided on Tuesday and maybe someone else can still be assigned to pitch in. More than one person can summarize a deposition.

op: all good advice. I've told the boss every day where I'm at with this assignment and his position is still "You'll get more efficient, let's see how much you can do!" although he's clearly disappointed that i'm not whipping through 2 of these a day. I did tell him on Friday that if he wanted it done by Tuesday he would need to rope in another associate and he said no. The biggest truth here is that dh needs to pull his own weight at home. I feel like I'm effectively a single parent. If I leave him to take care of dc for extended periods of time he becomes a total jerk to me--and our kid too. Sesame Street did more parenting this weekend than he did--it had to happen because DH was being useless.

op: no time to really get into it, but he's actually improved a lot in the last 2 years since dc was born. He has depression and anxiety issues so sometimes he's great and sometimes he's not. The general trend is toward dh becoming a good father--and my experience has been that pushing him when he's in a dark mood only makes things worse. DC and I will just ignore him until he comes back to reality. It's not easy, but I love him and he's improving.

You sound delicate. I thought NYers were supposed to be thicker-skinned? Also, to the rest of the country, NYC lines are baffling. Also, you know you'd mock that lady's hometown if you visited. You can't handle her doing the same to you? Buck up, buttercup. If you let every tourist in Broadway get to you, this might not be the place for you.

For future reference, don't work from home. Go into the office when you have big weekend projects that need to get done. Try not to judge dh's parenting in such situations. If he can only handle dc by parking dc in front of the television, so be it. Believe me, it's not going to hurt her, it will help you keep your job, and keep peace in the marriage. Have a few babysitters' numbers on hand for when you need back-up. If you are an attorney, this is just part of your job. I am also an attorney and do not think that it was unreasonable for your boss to ask you to have digested those 1500 pp over a 3-day weekend. Although it certainly makes for a crap weekend. Anyhow, I hope it all turns out okay for you.

Not for UPK. For Kindergarten sometimes but its a mixed bag. SIET's get cut at a high rate once kids are in school and there's a perception that now there's a harder/higher maint kid on their hands. The only possible advantage you might have is if he's eligible for a CTT class, but i don't know if they have these for UPK and again, there are so many fewer of these than regular classrooms I'm not sure how much it increases your odds.
