'Skyfall,' 2012 | Hits $1-billion mark
"Skyfall," the 23rd installment in the massive James Bond movie franchise, has joined the $1-billion box office club.
The Daniel Craig action film made an estimated $4.6 million at North American ticket wickets the weekend after Christmas, and an additional $10.6 million overseas, to edge "Skyfall" over the $1-billion mark.
To date, the movie has grossed just under $290 million on these shores, and just over $710 million abroad, making it the most successful Bond movie ever, the highest-grossing movie of all time in the United Kingdom, and the top international movie for distributor Sony.
