Giant South African Earthworm

I was looking through google trends today and noticed that their was a lot of buzz on the internet over Giant South African Earthworms. What so special about Giant South African Earthworms?

The Microchaetus rappi more commonly know as the Giant South African Earthworm to over 20 feet long! In 1967 a world record setting specimen 22 feet long was found beside a road in William’s Town, South Africa.

Although I wasn’t able to find any pictures of this 22 foot monster. I did find this smaller version above, and several pictures of the Giant Gippsland Earthworm from Australia, that can only be found in a small area in the Bass River Valley of South Gippsland, Australia.
