The pixie crop is back! Rihanna returns to her short locks as she teases fans with a sexy picture from her new shoot

She changes her hair more often than most of us would ever dream of.

And just weeks after returning to her long locks thanks to hair extensions, Rihanna has hacked it all off to return to her pixie crop.

The 24-year-old singer showed off her newly-shorn hair as she headed out My Studio Night Club in Hollywood, California on Sunday night.

Rihanna went for a casual look in a Louis Vuitton Obama print T-shirt and camouflage=print leather jacket as she enjoyed her evening out.

But while the singer opted for a relatively covered up outfit for her big night, it was a different story the following morning.

Not a stranger to teasing fans with provocative shots, Rihanna posted a topless shot of herself on her Twitter page.

The image showed Rihanna wearing little more than a towel, gazing into the camera while holding her manicured red nails up against her perfectly painted red lips.

Her eyes were accentuated with smoky eye make-up and the Diamonds singer didn’t appear to be wearing anything but is holding a white towel-like item across her chest.

It is unclear what exactly the shoot was for but it appears the images have been taken by famous fashion photographer Mert Alas, who has photographed Victoria Beckham and Lady Gaga in the past.

The photographer usual works alongside his partner Marcus Piggott under the collaborative name of Mert and Marcus, creating acclaimed portraits of sophisticated and powerful women – which is a category Rihanna certainly falls under.

The 24-year-old accompanied the snap writing: ‘And that's a #wrap on my shoot for my new #topsecret add campaign!!! #2013 #phuckyobasic.’

She shared a further image of a close up of her face and her immaculate make-up, which she captioned: ‘#RIHpost sneak peek of my shoot today with mertalas.’

The Bajan beauty is gearing up for her Diamonds world tour, which is due to start next week.

The svelte star has been working hard to perfect her dance routines before things begin, and tweeted pictures of herself in the studio earlier this week.

However, she caused controversy with the shots, which showed her puffing away on a suspicious-looking cigarette during a break.

Man, if I were her I'd run away to some beautiful island in the middle of nowhere and just..relax. No partying, no booze, no drugs..just the ocean, some good music, and the chance to take a step back and reassemble. She looks kind of sad and fed up in most of the photos I've seen of her. We can envy her all we want for her fortune, fame & beauty, but the saddest part is that she doesn't fully seem to grasp how much power she actually has. She keeps holding on to her destructive relationship and probably has very few true friends, & a complicated relationship with her father...as much as some of us wish we were in her skin, I think it's a very lonely place to be. I really wish her the best, she has a lovely voice and is truly gorgeous..if only she would assemble her thoughts, gain some confidence, and realize how powerful she is! And collaborate with the best musicians in the world to actually make some GOOD music, not the garbage that her record label probably pressures her to make.
