Their on-screen relation ship may have cooled down at the end of the first season of hit show Revenge.

But in real life, Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman's romance is clearly hotting up.

They snuggled up and gazed into each other's eyes during a brunch date in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The couple, who are said to have turned their on-screen relationship to real-life romance in late 2011, couldn't seem to take their eyes off each other, with Josh wrapping his arm around 26-year-old Emily.

At one point, she rested her head on his shoulder while he whispered sweet nothings into her ear, before leaving the restaurant together.

In a casual black leather jacket, scarf, jeans and ballet pumps, the actress looked a far cry from her preened alter ego Emily Thorne.

Seemingly make-up free, the star showed off her naturally flawless skin and perfect complexion.

And her 24-year-old boyfriend, who plays Daniel Grayson in the show, looked equally low key in a denim jacket, jeans and a grey hat.

Emily recently admitted she feels at her best when she's away from the red carpet looking natural, and it seems Josh agrees.

She told Women's Health magazine: 'I’m at my most confident when I’m in nature and I don’t have to dress up. When I take off my make-up, that’s my boyfriend’s favourite.

'And that, to me, is a symbol of a great guy - someone who doesn’t care about all that stuff. It’s more about accepting each other as separate people. That’s the fundamental that I try to approach a relationship with.

'Always remember that neither of you needs to be there. It’s a choice every day to stay together.'
