Justin Bieber has finally opened up about his split form Selena Gomez.

The 18-year-old has had an on-again off again relationship with the Disney star, 20, and has just penned a song about their failed romance called Nothing Like Us.

He confessed to Billboard magazine: ‘I'm not in the happiest place that I've ever been. I'm trying to get through what I'm going through. Like I said, I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.’

Justin denies tabloid reports that he is determined to get his former beau back.

He continued: ‘There's so many rumours. People say I call Selena every day and she won't pick up the phone or I'm chasing her down, and these are all fake stories.’

The pop star says he doesn’t read his own press.

Instead he relies on his people to keep him up to date on the latest stories.

He clarified: ‘I don't go on blogs or anything like that. I hear things. People tell me if something happens on the Internet. It gets back to me, definitely.’

JUSTIN'S ODE TO SELENA -
NOTHING LIKE US

'Gave you everything / Everything I had to give / Girl, why would you push me away / Lost in confusion / Like an illusion / You know I'm used to making your day / That's in the past now / We didn't last now / Guess that this is meant to be / Tell me was it worth it / We were so perfect / Baby, I just want you to see.'

'There's nothing like us / There's nothing like you and me together through the storm.'

Justin’s speaking out on the topic comes at an apt time as he promotes his new song, which was written about his ex-flame.

Speaking about his track, Nothing Like Us, he said he relies on his music for emotional release.

The teenager remarked: ‘I'm 18. I have a great team around me. I have great friends. We have a blast. They keep me occupied and keep my mind off negative things. It's funny when people are like “You're 18. What have you really gone through?” I'm thinking, “What do you mean? When you were 18, you don't think you went through that stuff?”

‘When you are 18, you're going through that transition. You have a high school girlfriend, you might not. Going to college. Figuring yourself out, leaving home.’

Aside from his parting ways with Disney starlet Selena, Justin has been in the headlines lately for being pictured smoking marijuana, reportedly shooting a security guard with a Nerf gun and apparently using foul language towards a fellow gym user.

However, Justin says he doesn’t wish he could take any of the choices he has made at the height of his fame.

Very much still concerned with keeping his single mother Pattie Malette happy, he shared some advice she has given him.

He added: ‘I don't have any regrets. I live and I learn. My mom says, "You got to learn the hard way, don't you?" That's me. I learn the hard way. But it's about how I pick myself up and be better and stronger.’
