SIZE: 30, 35, 40, 45

NOTE: For smaller (narrower) straps, work across fewer spaces at arm edge.

___Chain 48, 56, 64, 72

___Row 1: 1 sc in the 8th ch from hook, * ch 5, 1 sc in the 4th ch, repeat from * to end (10, 12, 14, 16 large holes and ½ hole

___Row 2: Ch 5, turn, 1 sc in hole, * ch 5, 1 sc in the next hole, repeat from * to end. Piece will measure about 15, 17½, 20, 22½ inches wide.

REPEAT ROW 2 FOR PATTERN. Work even for 27 rows, which is 16 inches, or 1 inch less than desired length from underarm.

___ARMHOLES: Row 1: Ch 5, turn, 1 sc in hole, work even in pattern ACROSS 9, 11, 12, 14 spaces.

___Row 2: Ch 5, turn, 1 sc in hole, work even in pattern across 8, 10, 10, 12 spaces.

REPEAT ROW 2 until armhole measures about 4, 4, 4½,4½ inches.

___Row 3: Ch 5, turn, 1 sc in hole, work even in pattern across 2, 2, 2, 2 spaces.

REPEAT ROW 3 until armhole measures 6½, 7, 7½, 8 inches.

___LAST ROW: Ch 5, turn, 1 sc in hole, ch 3, 1 sc in hole. Ch 3, 1 sc in hole. End off.

Attach yarn to 3rd sc in from armhole edge, and repeat Row 3. Work to correspond to other side.

___FRONT: Work same as back, until Row 1 of the armhole has been completed. Work row 2 of armhole shaping. Work Row 3 of armhole shaping. Repeat Row 3 until armhole measures the same as the back. Work last row. End off. Work the other side of the front to correspond.

___FINISHING: Work 1 row of sc around neck, armholes, and bottom edge, pulling in as needed. Block with a damp cloth if necessary.
