Does this play anything like Powerstone on the Dreamcast - if so I'd be very tempted to make a purchase.

It's quite a bit like Power Stone in some ways, yes - simple combos, lots of power-ups, map hazards (e.g. bombing runs, renegade trucks) and a strong emphasis on multiplayer. Sadly, the camera's a real dog at times and it's hard to play scientifically when fighting in groups.
