We're very optimistic for the device's future -- our chief concern relates not to the hardware, but how it will affect behavior: If you thought that friend who glances at his smartphone every few minutes was rude, just wait until he owns a Pebble.

The Pebble is, essentially, that small notification LCD, just wireless and on your wrist. Still, it's a useful concept. I didn't truly appreciate the Pebble's convenience until a few nights into my testing period, during a binge TV watching stint, when I was able to sort the inane WhatsApp messages...

The Pebble is a useful accessory for a smartphone if you have a spare $150 and hate digging out your phone, or can’t easily do so, to see if you need to attend to a call or message. But I suggest you wait for it to work more smoothly.

Whether it’s worth $150 today depends on how much of an early-adopter you are; everyone else considering dressing their wrist with some smart technology might want to wait and see how third-party apps change the Pebble experience.

The Pebble works as a watch, is packed with interesting hardware, and has basic smartphone integration. But for it to be a truly smart watch its software still needs some major feature additions.

At the moment, $150 seems like a bit much for what is basically a remote notification bar, even if you can track one down.---But as a geek myself, I love the Pebble, warts and all. If you love playing with cutting edge mobile tech and you've got the money to spare, go for it.

At $150, I wouldn’t necessarily say that the Pebble is overpriced, but I’m also not sure it’s priced to grab the average tech user. This is for early adopters and tech geeks, like myself that will have some patience as this eventually turns into the watch we all dream of it becoming.

It's not a must-have device, but when is an accessory truly ever necessary? Pebble is not yet the elegant solution that its Kickstarter project inspired, but it's a functional timepiece well on its way to something special.

Pebble should become more appealing over time as more apps become available. But all bets are off if Apple jumps into the fray.

After a brief amount of wrist time, I can say that handling the watch was a rare moment when a product feels like it’s worth more than what you paid for it. The UI is responsive, the text is clear and the materials are of top quality.

Honestly the gadget feels lighter and smaller than my standard analog watch. And with the ability to run custom apps and software in the future, I bet developers will soon harness the Pebble's built-in accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and other high-tech gear in no time.

We spent some time with the smartwatch here in Las Vegas and came away extremely impressed with the level of polish the company's achieved. Pebble's most visually striking feature is its colorful multi-layer polycarbonate face / bezel, which looks fantastic.

On the wrist, it’s lightweight, with the rubberized strap – that can be easily switched out – comfortable. The display is clear and legible, and lacks the refresh-pause we’re familiar with from E Ink ereaders. The fact that it’s only monochrome is offset by the great contrast.

The combination of style, size, features, and battery life makes the Pebble the best smartwatch available. It's not without its flaws, but they are all software-based and the software will improve over time (knock on wood). When I'm commuting (by train) my iPhone is either in an inside jacket...

So far I have been using my Pebble since the first day that I got it and it has been wonderful. It's totally changed the way that I use my phone. I was fearful at first that because it's so close and always there it would disrupt me but instead it has smoothed out bumps in my workflow because I...

Pebble feels like an excellent piece of hardware. It is very snappy & feels comfortable on my wrist. The display is a little smaller than it could be, but I can still read the text on it, even from an arm's length away. Hopefully, more apps will be released that take full advantage of all of...

After a long, emotional wait, the Pebble is finally here. Does it live up to expectations? In most ways, yes.
