Nicole Kidman, and a slew of other Hollywood heavyweights, took out a full page advertisement in the Los Angeles Times, and the they single out such terrorist organizations as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.
“We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas,” the ad reads.
“If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.”
“We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs.”
Others on the list of supporters included in the advertisement are Michael Douglas, Dennis Hopper, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Danny De Vito, Don Johnson, James Woods, Kelly Preston, Patricia Heaton, Gary Sinise, and William Hurt. Directors Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Michael Mann, Dick Donner, and Sam Raimi also signed their names.
Anyone who is openly critical of President Bush, and who does not have their name on this list, is just a Bush Bashing hypocrite who supports terrorism. Although terrorists really don’t care about outside pressure, this stand against terrorism might help rally support which might translate into action to stop terrorism. It’s not a pleasant job. Earlier generations took care of these sorts of world problems so we could have a better future, so we need to do the same for future generations. It’s our turn as history repeats itself.
Kelly Preston bestowed her support for the letter, but where was her husband John Travolta’s support? Do we assume he’s pro-terrorism? What about Nicole’s exhusband Tom Cruise? Well, he probably thinks that the world’s differences should be solved with high doses of vitamins.
