 APT Announces New Webinars                                                          

The Conference Keynote and College of Fellows lectures from the 2012 APT Charleston conference are now available for remote viewing! Webinar production was made possible with a grant from the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training (NCPTT).  

Joseph P. Reilly, Mayor of Charleston, South Carolina, presented the keynote lecture "Preserving the Heart of a City" and Dr. Gerard Lynch, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England, presented the College of Fellow levture "Re-positioning Craft Education to Re-connect Artisans to Designers,"

April 11 - 12, 2013
APT International in conjunction with the APT Hawaii-Pacific Islands Chapter is pleased to announce a workshop on  Nondestructive Evaluation Methods for Historic Structures to be held in Honolulu on April 11-12, 2013.  The purpose of this Workshop is to provide guidance for designers, engineers and contractors in the use of diagnostic non-destructive testing for historic structures.  The two-day workshop is intended for graduate engineers and for practicing engineers who are not familiar with the subject area, and technically oriented professionals from other disciplines.  The program is divided between lectures on the first day and hands-on field sessions on the second day.  Click here for additional information.  This workshop funded in part by a grant from NCPTT.

June 14 - 15, 2013
The APT Training and Education Committee and APT's Western Great Lakes Chapter are hosting the workshop "Historic Finishes." The two-day workshop will be held on June 14 and 15, 2013, at Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin near Spring Green, Wisconsin. Lectures on wood finishes, paint, plaster, and metal finishes will be combined with hands-on field sessions at Taliesin. Instructors will include Kyle Normandin and Arlen Heginbotham of The Getty Conservation Institute, conservator Rosa Lowinger, and a craftsman (to be identified).  Information on cost, registration, and hotel arrangements will be on the APT web site soon. This workshop is sponsored in part by NCPTT.
