Emmanuel Frimpong is in line for a free transfer summer switch to Fulham after being told he has no future at Arsenal.

The Ghana midfielder, who is on loan at Craven Cottage, is no longer part of Arsene Wenger's long-term plans at the Emirates.

Frimpong has been with the Gunners since he was nine-years-old - but he can leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Fulham boss Martin Jol is in pole position to land Frimpong, 21, on a permanent deal.

Jol said: 'If there is an opportunity to take him, I would probably do it.'

It's a big mistake if they let him leave. Frimpong is the defensive midfielder that we need. I don't understand why after he has come back from injury that he is not being played. He is less injury prone than Diaby and better in the old Song position as well!!!

Cant see him staying at Arsenal, the guy is so over rated. all that Frimpong stuff on twitter got old really quick. DOnt thnik he haas ever been 100% committed to footy, no where near good enough for Arsenal.

Yes Arsene, Abou Diaby who cannot string two games together is the answer for your midfield, not young Frimpong.............we did the same mistake with Pogba and he's been brilliant at Juventus
