They are newlyweds after all and finally enjoying a break from weeks of promotional duties and awards shows.

And Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman certainly seem to be enjoying some down time together on Sunday.

The couple were spotted putting on quite the display of public affection as they grabbed a coffee in New York.

Anne's husband Adam pulled the Les Miserables star in for a kiss as they both sat at a Brooklyn cafe.

The paired looked smitten with one another as they enjoyed their caffeine fix at the local coffee shop.

Coming up for air, they later emerged outside and into the sunlight for a leisurely stroll.

Pushing her short cropped hair back with a Fifties-style headband, she shielded her mostly make-up free face with some tinted sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Adam looked a little more on the rugged side in his shearling and suede coat teamed with light grey trousers.

The actor and jewellery designer also sported a fuzzy beard and had perfected his hair with a spot of gel.

Anne this time chose to forgo one of her favourite hats for the outing.

The actress sacrificed her style the day before by stepping out in public in unflattering grey knit head wear.

The Oscar-winner was understandably more concerned with staying warm in 40-degree Manhattan than looking glamorous.

The hat, however, did look a tad ridiculous on her as it covered her entire head to her eyebrows.

The star was also sipping a hot beverage for extra insurance.

With a row of new awards at home, Anne seemed not at all bothered as she hit up The 25th Annual Art Show with her husband Adam Shulman.

Anne paired her hat with jeans and a black padded coat, and wore her pixie-cut hair simple and swept over to one side.

Her elegant large handbag with beaded detail was an eye-catching draw, however.

Her spouse was equally dressed down, wearing a blue padded jacket, black jumper and jeans.

The actress took more care to dress up on Thursday night for the opening night of her mother Kate Hathaway's new Broadway show Ann.

Anne was understated yet classy in a dark Prada dress, matching coat and black stockings, and red heels which added a spot of colour.

The Rachel Getting Married star gladly posed with her parents, Kate and Gerald, as well as her brothers Thomas and Michael, and joked she was planning on making her support loud and clear.

Speaking to Jay Leno on The Tonight Show recently, she said: 'I’m going to embarrass her and be hooting and hollering!'

Adam looked a little more on the rugged side ......... Sorry DM, but one thing Adam should NEVER be described as is "rugged". He's actually more "poncy" than anything.

I love her shoes. They rock. So Ann has some spots. We all get them. And think of the amounts of makeup she has to wear on movie sets and award shows. I think she looks lovely!
