Katherine Jackson has filed court papers asking for her grandson TJ to be paid $9,000 per month to look after Michael Jackson's three children.

The late singer's 82-year-old mother - who acts as a guardian to his children Paris, 15, Blanket, 11, and Prince Michael, 16, alongside their cousin TJ Jackson - has asked a court in Los Angeles to sign off on her request to have the Michael Jackson Estate pay TJ the monthly amount.

According to the documents, Katherine claims TJ initially rejected the figure she suggested saying it was too much.

However, she alleges the 34-year-old former 3T singer, who is married and has three children of his own, eventually agreed to the amount as it is roughly the same salary earned by the children's full-time nanny.

In the papers, Katherine says the salary is entirely justified because TJ spends an average of 300 hours per month caring for the kids.

As part of his guardianship, he takes the trio to various appointments and activities including karate, athletics, guitar lessons and on social outings.

She also claims he helps the children with their homework and attends their school functions.

A judge has yet to rule on the case.

TJ was appointed as co-guardian to the Jackson children last month following fears over Katherine's mental wellbeing after she was reported missing.

Mrs Jackson was determined to be staying at an Arizona resort while Prince and Paris made claims on Twitter they were barred from contacting their grandmother - leading to a driveway dispute between the siblings and their older relatives.

However, following the arguments, Jermaine Jackson then called for family members to settle the matter privately.

Posting a statement on Twitter, Tito, 57,wrote: 'After much soul-searching, it is clearly time for us to live by Michael's words about love not war.

'In this spirit, I offer this statement by way of extending an olive branch. Mistakes have been made and irrational things have been said on both sides in a highly charged emotional environment.

'It is time for us all to draw a line in the sand and move towards peace, co-operation, love and healing.'

Oh my lord...some you people cant seem to read. The article states 300 hours a month not week!!!

So over 10 hours a day EVERYDAY of solid CARING huh?! What on earth takes that much time when two of them are older teens - they certainly don't need spoon feeding, nappies changed, etc or entertaining like the youngest. How does the cousin spend any tome with his own family if he dedicates 10 hours a day to Jackson's trio?? The eldest TWO have friends and activities of their own, so are unlikely to want 10 hours of 'quality time with cousin' every day. God help those kids, I hope they figure it all out before the inheritance pot is syphoned off by their hangers-on of a family. It will certainly be $220k lighter by the time Prince is 18....

300 hours per week? Really? Are you sure about that?

If he spends all that time caring for them, it's obviously and full time job and he should be paid for it. HE does have a family of his own. And the fact that he initially rejected the salary and only accepted because that is what the nanny would make is very commendable of him. If I remember correctly, he was Michael's favorite nephew and I believe that he is stepping in to protect the children from his other family members who are only trying to take advantage of them. I'll never forget how HE faced off against Janet, and the others and squashed their kidnapping plan. These kids are lucky to have him. Where ever he is, I'm sure Michael is relieved to know that TJ is truly who he has always shown himself to be.

These kids need an advocate who has no ties to the family nor any self-interest and it is this person (or group) who will strictly decide how much a month their carer should get.

Anyone who manages to spend 300 hours per week doing anything deserves all that and more...it's clearly a miracle!

If he's doing all that for the kids....what's the nanny doing?

Get it right, Dailymail. In the article you say that Katherine advocated for TJ's allowance based on 300 per month. Under the picture the caption says, "Katherine alleges in the papers that TJ spends around 300 hours per week looking after Paris, 15, Blanket, 11, and Prince Michael, 16. Which is it?? I doubt it's the latter as a week only has 168 hours. Jeeez! Do your fact checking and your math before you publish!!!

The children do favor Michael before his nose fell off.

Omg the kids would be more responsible than these money grabbing adults. Lucky they are Michaels kids because they will need the name to make money again after the family spends there dads.
