They may both be curvy brunettes, but that's about all the have in common.

Bret Michaels was guilty of making that silly mistake as on Friday he tweeted a birthday wish to Eva Longoria, but accidentally tagged a snap of Kim Kardashian.

The Rock of Love star, whose birthday is also March 15, had good intentions when he started his morning off with a tweet at the 38-year-old actress.

'Wishing a #HappyBirthday to @EvaLongoria. Hope your day rocks!' he wrote, linking to a picture.

But instead of attaching a snap of the birthday girl, he tagged a picture of himself and Kim Kardashian - who turns 33 in October.

The former Celebrity Apprentice All Star competitor soon realised his mistake, deleting the tweet and reposting without any picture attached.

But the slip up still lived on, as dozens of fans shared it on the micro-blogging site.

Still grateful: Eva posted a thanks to her followers

Neither Kim nor Eva responded to his tweet, but Eva did send out a message of thanks to her followers as she celebrated her special day.

She wrote: 'thank you everyone for the amazing birthday wishes! i am so grateful to each of you!'

Joining the Poison frontman in tweeting celebrations at the Texas-born starlet was Extra host and close friend Mario Lopez.

'Happy birthday to my girl @EvaLongoria ! Finally 21 yrs old.. Able to get in the clubs.. You get better with age my dear.. Feliz Cumpleanos!' he wrote.

Undeterred, Bret continued on his birthday quest, also wishing a happy day to former Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath, journalist Deborah Evans Price and Poison rocker C.C. Deville's son Vallon.

The picture of the pair dates back to 2011 when the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star met up with the rocker on board of his tour bus in Orlando.

At the time, the Poison singer shared with Us Weekly that he may have been crushing on Kim.

'She was like, ''Oh, this is beautiful. Nice bus,''' he said of their 10 minute chat.

He continued, saying that Kim was 'polite' and wished him good health, as less than a year before he had been hospitalized with a brain aneurysm.

'We talked a little about my health. Talked about the concert. It was very cool,' he said. 'She was very, very polite. I mean that. Very sexy, very cool, very together.'

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Bret has turned down an offer from Chippendales.

The rocker was invited to host a show for the male group in Las Vegas but had to politely decline due to commitments for his Rock My RV show on the Travel Channel, according to TMZ .

"They may both be curvy brunettes" - say what you like about Eva, one thing she is not is curvy. And if I were Eva I would take it as a huge insult to be mistaken with KK.

Epic Fail dude. Even I know the difference between the two. Eva is hotter. The other one may be younger but I pass. Lay off the happy juice now, and loosen the bandanna thing on your head it's getting quite old isn't it and keeping the old bald spot in check right?
