The film will be the debut feature from Platige Image, and director Tomek Baginski. Co-produced by the Warsaw Uprising Museum it will be a sci-fi re-imagining of the events of the Warsaw Uprising in World War II and, if the concept art is anything to judge by, it will have healthy steampunk overtones. Surprisingly, given that Platige's most public work - and all of their short films - revolve around their CGI animation, this will be a dominantly live action feature with heavy CG special effects components. And if you're worried about how they can handle this approach, don't be. Though it doesn't get as much press as their animation, Platige also does a ton of digital effects work both in the world of commercials and feature films - they were the effects house primarily responsible for Lars Von Trier's Antichrist - and their work is stellar.
But on to the main point of this post being bumped forward. New concept art. It's gorgeous.

    OMG, more info, more info... OK ,people, here some info: it will be story about Warsaw uprising form 1944 (you know, Warsaw, Poland, Europe... ey? :) ) but told as a steam-punk story, so history but diferently told. They made it like this to get to young guys, who doesn't really know what was this urpising and how important for Warsaw and all Poland it was.

    So: new version of the history, steam-punk from 1944 :) enough?

    Wow, much respect for you for recognizing that face, I've seen this concept art many times, and never payed attention that it's actually Dirlewanger. I mean, it's even my facebook cover photo, daaamn, I'm ashamed now, and to see it from a Croatian (I mean foreigner) it's amazing. Did Croatians have any unfinished business with him as well?

    That's sad indeed, for me history is "cool" without any upgrading it towards s-f stuff, but I think in this particular case it's about getting foreign audience, cause many people, even in Europe don't know shit about Warsaw Uprising and confuse it with Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. Anyways, I've heard this project is dead, so...
