Eurogamer found a clever modder has found did some poking around in the debug file for the troubled EA game which opens it up to offline play (and thus stable play for those of you out there unable to get a consistent experience building your own would-be nuclear hellholes). The interesting part of this story, though, is that it pokes holes in EA/Maxis's assertions that "SimCity" requires constant connectivity for an optimal experience.
