High school flashback! Kelly Ripa dons frizzy wig and a recreation of her own prom dress to partner Michael Strahan

Most people go to great lengths to hide their high school prom pictures.

But Live! with Kelly and Michael host Kelly Ripa went to great lengths recreating her hilarious 1989 prom look for the ABC morning talk show Tuesday.

The effervescent 42-year-old and her co-host Michael Strahan both gamely donned corsages and boutonnières for a segment involving a Teen Vogue prom fashion show.

The former cheerleader, who graduated from New Jersey's Eastern High School, wore a frizzy blonde wig over her own straight bob and Unique Vintage made a replica of her original one-shouldered scarlet frock.

Meanwhile the former NFL defensive end, who graduated from Germany's Mannheim Christian Academy, wore his first-ever prom look in the form of a hairpiece and white tuxedo courtesy of Jim's Formal Wear.

According to TV by the Numbers, Live! with Kelly and Michael is doing well having ranked as the number two syndicated talk show in households for the sixth week running, beating Ellen by four percent.

Last January, Kelly admitted she receives Botox injections every seven months in order to keep her pretty face looking its best.

'It's the Botox. Every seven months or so my eyelid skin rests on my eyelashes,' the mother-of-three said in the February issue of Elle Magazine.

'So I feel like [Botox] makes my makeup artist's life easier, and it makes my eyes look a little more open on TV, which is where I happen to work right now.'

The three-time Emmy winner has even had injections in her armpits to prevent sweating, and she maintains her super-slim frame thanks to frequent SoulCycle spin classes.

Ripa did not end up with her high school sweetheart, but she has been married to Latin heartthrob Mark Consuelos for the past 16 years.

The soap stars have three children - 15-year-old Michael, 11-year-old Lola, and 10-year-old Joaquin.
