A judge says Lohan will be sentenced to 90 days in rehab, 30 days of community labour and 18 months of psychological therapy.

The Liz & Dick star was on probation when her sports car crashed on Pacific Coast Highway while on her way to a film shoot.

The deal followed over two hours of talks behind closed doors in the judge's chambers between her legal team and prosecutors.

A mandatory sentence of five days in jail will be included in her rehab stay, which she will be able to complete in her native New York.

She was also found in violation of her probation in a 2011 necklace theft and sentenced to 180 days in jail. However, she will be able to avoid jail time if she complies with the conditions of her plea deal.

Lohan was also ordered not to have any contact with drug users and must submit to regular drug testing.

Before the Meal Girls actress left the courtroom, Superior Judge Superior Court Judge James R. Dabney offered her a suggestion.

'Don't drive,' he said.

It has also been reported that Lindsay and her lawyers turned down a last minute plea deal offered by Judge Dabney behind the closed door discussions.

The offer was for the actress to be under house arrest for 30 days, during which that time she would be forced to wear an alcohol and drug monitoring SCRAM bracelet.

'Judge Dabney offered the possibility of a 30 day house arrest sentence but insisted that as part of the deal Lindsay would have to wear a SCRAM bracelet which detects any consumption of alcohol or drugs,' a source told Radaronline.com.

'Prosecutors were absolutely stunned Lohan turned down the offer, and chose instead to go to a lock down rehab for 90 days.'

Back in the court room, nodding as the judge reviewed the terms of her agreed probation, Lohan appeared tired after jetting to the courtroom following a last-minute flight from Los Angeles.

She arrived 48 minutes late to the hearing after taking a private flight after deplaning a commercial jet earlier Sunday amid concerns of a 'fuel leak'.

In the mad dash to avoid a bench warrant being issued for her arrest, she appeared to have time to make a quick change. Last seen wearing all black in New York, she arrived to the courthouse in a white and rose coloured blouse, sheer white skinny pants and grey heels.

She shielded her eyes with round sunglasses as she was escorted inside amid a flurry of reporters.

Despite the entourage a bystander managed to maneuver through the crowd to throw gold glitter confetti on the star as she made her way in.

According to the New York Daily News, Lohan's lawyer at one point leaned into the actress and indicated he hoped the hearing would end promptly.

The appearance followed a dramatic night of last-minute travel arrangements for Lohan.

Entertainment Tonight reports her plane landed at Atlantic Aviation at Los Angeles International Airport rather than Van Nuys airport, where she was initially scheduled to deplane.

She secured a flight aboard a private jet to get her back to Los Angeles in time for her court appearance, although that effort was in vain.

The jet appears to have been provided by a Los Angeles-based energy drink company for which she has made promotional appearances.

'Thanks Mr. Pink for the private jet see you all in a few hours in LA,' Lohan tweeted early Monday morning, referring to the firm.

The actress' court hearing followed days of travel drama. She was spotted frantically trying to get a flight from JFK Airport on Sunday night after choosing to get off her initially scheduled flight.

She was originally scheduled to return to California on Saturday, but decided to attend a gig in New York instead and fly back 24 hours later.

The Liz & Dick actress skipped her flight on Saturday to see a band called City of the Sun at The Red Door club in Manhattan.

She then decided to get off her flight back to Los Angeles on Sunday night after deeming the plane too unsafe.

According to TMZ, Lohan deplaned when she learned there was a fuel leak.

Sources close to the troubled star say 35 other passengers also got off the flight, which did in fact get diverted to Las Vegas for more fuel before continuing to Los Angeles.

The actress' mother Dina is not believed to have accompanied her on the trip.

However, her estranged father, Michael Lohan, was seen arriving to court, and held his own press conference after the proceedings, hurling vitriol at Heller as he demanded the attorney leave his daughter alone.

The patriarch also made claims he has proof Heller is not licensed to practice law in New York, where he is based.

Heller earlier drew ire from a judge who questioned his knowledge of California law during a pre-trial hearing.

He heeded the warning and sought assistance from respected Orange County criminal law firm Wallin & Klarich, who offered up Fox News legal analyst David Wohl, who confirmed on Twitter Michael Lohan had been in touch with his firm.

'@lindsaylohan My law firm was hired by your Dad. He wants nothing but the best for you. We will be there Monday to help, if we're allowed,' the California court veteran tweeted on Friday.

It did not appear the actress had approved the secondary counsel at the time of the hearing.

Paul Wallin, a partner at Wallin & Klarich, told the Los Angeles Times on Saturday: 'We are awaiting Ms. Lohan's approval. Mr. Heller made the request. The court and our firm want to ensure the integrity of this case.'

Lohan's plea came somewhat as a surprise.

The actress and her attorney have previously been unable to broker a deal with prosecutors, according to reports. She is said to have been reluctant to return to rehab.

Heller has said that his client does not need substance abuse treatment, but should be allowed to continue to undergo psychotherapy to address issues raised by her turbulent upbringing.

Police documents obtained by TMZ reveal prosecutors may have pushed for rehab after authorities at the scene found a plastic water bottle lying on the ground near the driver's door with an amber coloured liquid.

'It was an alcoholic beverage, possibly wine,' the report reads.

'It was my opinion that one of the occupants... was possibly in possession of the open container and discarded it shortly after the collision.'

Neither Lohan nor her attorney have publicly addressed those allegations.

Heller has meanwhile been accused witness tampering amid claims he tried to coerce Lohan's assistant, Gavin Doyle, into saying he was behind the wheel.

According to TMZ, the Santa Monica City Attorney 'will be launching an investigation and will interview Lohan's ex-assistant Gavin Doyle tomorrow in the presence of police'.

Heller has denied the accusations.

Lohan been under some form of probation since she was arrested twice in 2007 for driving under the influence, and her court troubles have stifled a once-promising career.

Her return to acting last year in the Lifetime movie Liz & Dick was widely panned by critics and viewers. Her upcoming film by Bret Easton Ellis, The Canyons, co-starring porn star James Deen, is yet to be released.

Lohan will also star in horror spoof Scary Movie 5, set for release on April 12.

Meanwhile, it has been claimed that Lohan is already planning a trip to Dubai following her release from rehab.

Sheeraz Hasan, who owns Millions of Milkshakes in the Emirates, told E! News: 'I am meeting with her to organize trips to Brazil and Dubai for business opportunities.

'She will meet with royal families and make endorsements and appearances. She already has offers from retail outlets.'

Hasan also claimed that the actress is planning a trip to China before the year is out, to work with children.

He added: 'Two days ago she told me she wants to work with children. It is important to give back to children. She is passionate about working with children. She said she wants to use the platform of fame to highlight important issues in the world involving children and try to inspire children around the world. She loves children and wants to spend more time with them.

'She is a strong girl and she wants all the negativity out of her life. She wants to get back to what she does-acting, media, and traveling the world.'

The attorney has a rabbit foot hanging from his LV briefcase?!!!! Perfect for this circus! Oh and by the way, no amount of rehab is going to turn her life around. Only a devastating event like going to jail will do it.

i look at her fathers actions like how he was today and i sorta understand where she is at. She has never really had any stability in her life. I feel sorry for her but at the same time she isn't a child anymore and has not learner to seperate herself from these people. She needs serious help. It doesn't matter how many times she gets in trouble someone will get her off. She had problems and I believe she also likes attention. Going to jail will help her more than we realize. She will have to be sober for that. It will do her more good tohave a reality check than she knows
