Make-up and fancy free! A barefaced Anne Hathaway keeps fit and healthy as she enjoys break from the movie scene

Having some time away from her hectic filming schedule, Anne Hathaway is making the most of her break staying active and looking as un-Hollywood as possible.

The Academy Award winner was seen taking her daily walk in Laurel Canyon, California, with a friend on Monday before grabbing a coffee.

Unlike other celebrities, the 30-year-old shunned make-up and dressed in her most casual of workout outfits.

After the madness of awards season and with no films currently in the works, no doubt the Les Miserables star is enjoying some time off.

The actress seemed relaxed as she chatted away to her walking pal and grabbed a coffee from a nearby takeaway store.

The Princess Diaries star wore a black hooded sweatshirt, navy full length leggings, trainers and a white Nike hat to protect her alabaster - and make-up free - skin from Los Angeles sunshine.

When in Los Angeles, the star tries to walk through the area's hilly trails daily, usually with her loyal chocolate lab Esmeralda or her new husband Adam Schulman.

After winning her first Oscar, Anne has given herself some time off as her only confirmed bit of work coming up is voicing cartoon character Jewel in Rio 2.

Anne is rumored to be in talks to star as Eliza Doolittle in another musical remake - My Fair Lady.

Anne was quoted by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton as saying: 'I haven’t heard for a while what’s happening with My Fair Lady and I don’t know whether I would do it on stage, or screen, but either would be a treat.'

I have never understood all the hatred for this girl. Even if you're not a fan of her acting, she seems to do her best to avoid drama and live a normal life. Far better than those who are constantly seeking attention in the worst way possible, like Lindsay Lohan.

Remember her with long luscious hair and now look at her. Shocking that hair alone can do this. Same for Miley Cyrus. I appreciate that the negativity of these posts is no longer an issue. Anne Hathaway is a class act and she never deserved all that cruelty from the media. I'm convinced that some jealous star launched a campaign against her. It was like all the media got the same PR memo or something
