With his trendy geek spectacles, beanie and designer stubble, he could be a member of any British Indie band.

But this is country singer Tim McGraw, who ditched the cowboy hat and fake tan to go native on a trip to Europe.

The 45-year-old unveiled his new look as he was photographed in London on Monday following his performance at the Country To Country festival at the O2 on Saturday night.

Along with his trendy clothes he unveiled a slimmed down physique, the result of a gruelling exercise regime.

After working hard to lose 40lbs and slim down a few years back he now ensures he maintains his fighting weight by dedicated himself to the gym.

'The reason you want to do this [be a singer] is to be in front of thousands of people, playing that guitar and doing what you love,' he told People magazine.

'And when I'm on stage, I want to feel good.'

McGraw trains with martial arts expert and stunt man Roger Yuan, 52, prior to hitting the road. Yuan previously got Daniel Craig in shape to play James Bond.

The star told People he trains and diets before tours because 'it's part of my job' but that he still indulges occasionally.

'I'll eat a cheeseburger now and then, and I love sweet tea,' he said.

'I like to eat. I like food. That is one of the reasons that I throw that extra hour of working out in.'

The people mag cover article showed him shirtless....he had an eight pack....I counted to be sure. :-) I never paid attention before but he was HOT. But as a Texan I love the cowboy hat. My father was buried in his favorite business suit, cowboy boots, and his beloved hat laying across his heart. I don't like the beanie....too effiminate.

Agreed. He just needs to accept he's lost his hair. All these hats aren't fooling anyone.
