Dog escapes death, lands on Maine South stage
One of the stars of Maine South High School’s latest musical production almost didn’t live long enough to make his stage debut. Rusty, a 1-year-old Chihuahua who plays the part of Bruiser in this weekend’s debut of “Legally Blonde,” was one day away from being euthanized at a Tucson, Ariz. shelter when he caught the eye of Jay Haines last summer.
