And Alessandra Ambrosio obviously has no trouble fulfilling that brief.
The Brazilian beauty was both stylish and hip as she hit up the posh shops in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
To die for gorgeous: Alessandra Ambrosio adapted a look from the 1960s when she stepped out in an off-the-shoulder tie-dye shirt on Thursday
Alessandra went back to the 1960s by wearing a rose and grey tie-dye T-shirt with her simple pair of jeans.
The tie-dye technique was made popular by rebel rockers as Janis Joplin, Mama Cass and Joe Cocker who performed at Woodstock, the historic summer concert series of 1969.
Alessandra's shirt was off the shoulder and fitted loosely, so comfortable on a warm day.
She complimented the outfit with layers of necklaces of alternating lengths, including one that looked like a big shark's tooth, and there were beaded bracelets on her wrist to accessorise her fancy gold watch.

Cinched at her slender waist was a wide tan leather belt, which blended well with her rugged country-style, flat-heeled boots.
Diamond studs at each of her ears made one remember that Alessandra is after all a Victoria's Secret Angel and one of the world's top-earning models.
The smiling Alessandra was in the mood for shopping, and first she stopped in Duxiana Luxury Bed in West Hollywood.

Later she ventured into a jewelry store in Beverly Hills and was seen standing over a glass display of very expensive looking bracelets and other shiny items.
She spent a while looking at the selection through dark-tinted shades, and by then she had wrapped her long brown hair into a bun.
After a few days of work-related photo shoots for Victoria's Secret, Alessandra probably needed some one-on-one retail therapy.
On Wednesday, Alessandra juggled errands and her precocious little girl, Anja.
She was seen at Whole Foods stocking up on groceries, and was left to carry the two heavy bags and keep an eye on her fast-moving four-year-old while heading to the car.
