While most actresses strive to be super slim, Hayden Panettiere showed off her amazing athletic frame on a red carpet on Saturday.

The pint-sized star stepped out in Los Angeles, California, to promote her show Nashville at the annual PaleyFest event.

While the 23-year-old went for a casual rather than glamorous red carpet look, she made sure to highlight her muscular figure, which no doubt she has worked hard on.

The Heroes star donned skin tight dark blue denim jeans that showed off her shapely legs and curvacious rear end.

The star added a red and black knitted sweater and platform blue suede boots to her causal ensemble.

The actress and activist also kept her hair in a relaxed style, wearing her golden locks in a ponytail with a section of her hair securing it at the back of her head.

The star saved her main efforts for her make up, applying bright pink lipstick with golden shades on her cheeks and eyes.

Hayden was at the event to chat to fans about her new NBC show, which has gone from strength to strength recently and has allowed for Hayden to show off her singing skills.

In Nashville, Hayden plays rising star Juliette Barnes, who rivals 'Queen of Country' Rayna Jaymes, played by Connie Britton.

Her character often goes toe to toe with Connie's and Hayden says it is nice to play someone who is not always the nice girl.

She told Deadline earlier this year: 'I love the fact that this character that Callie Khouri created is so multidimensional; there’s so many layers to her.

'But this was a big deal for me because I really wanted to break away from my character in Heroes.

'I’m so deeply blessed that I got to play that character, don’t get me wrong, but I knew after that character it would be an uphill battle for people to see me as anything besides the all-American cheerleader.'

What a shame Heroes devolved into ridicule. It could have been an iconic series. Not sure what Hayden has done since, other then misspell her tattoo.

She should show us without the jeans.

I just can't figure out why women wear shoes like that... just makes them look like they have Frankenstein's feet

The outfit is actually quite cute for a casual day, until you get to her shoes! Eeeek!

Love Hayden and Nashville is fabulous! Much more than I expected it to be, really powerful, well realised female leads.

Did she get those shoes on prescription ?

She's so cute, and I'm glad she's not starving herself for the bony, starved look so many girls her age try to achieve. Connie is a natural beauty, too. Always been a fan of hers.

The shoes are horrendous and the jeans just make her legs look even shorter. If you want to create an illusion, at least do it in your favour. A slight boot cut jean covering the shoes would have made all the difference.

She has a pretty face but she seems to have a thick manly neck - reminds me of a Sindy doll.
