Enough layers, Madonna? Singer looks swamped in head-to-toe black as she makes her way to Kabbalah Center

She shocked critics last week by dressing up as a Boy Scout at the GLAAD Media Awards.
But Madonna got attention for a different kind of eccentric attire when she stepped out in New York City on Saturday afternoon.
The 54-year-old singer was swamped in layers of black, including a leather fedora and a heavy fur-lined puffer coat despite temperatures reaching nearly 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

She was completely covered up from head-to-toe, pairing dark sunglasses, goucho pants, boots and fingerless biker gloves with her overdone look.

Her blonde hair was tied up under her hat, and her complexion appeared make-up free as she darted into the religious centre.
Madonna's seven-year-old children David and Mercy obediently shuffled in with their mother, David dressed in all white, Marcy wearing a cute pink dress and matching headband under her button-up coat.
The singer's other children, Lourdes, 16, and Rocco, 12, did not appear to accompany the family this time for the outing, although her eldest were seen joining he at the Kabbalah Center earlier this month.

The superstar, who has a home on Manhattan's Upper East Side, usually dressed down when she's not making public appearances.
And the style icon certainly came up with a shocking costume when she spoke at last Saturday's GLAAD Media Awards in the city.
Madonna arrived dressed in a Boy Scout Of America costume, her wavy blonde locks underneath a brimmed hat.
She explained why she chose the clothing – which included a blue belted play suit with fingerless gloves, fishnet tights and biker boots – as she stood at the podium for the gathering to honour celebrity advocates of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender community.

She told the audience during a long speech: ‘I wanted to be a Boy Scout, but they wouldn’t let me join.
‘I think that’s f**ked up. I can build a fire. I know how to pitch a tent. I have a very good sense of direction. I can rescue kittens from trees. Listen, I wanna do for the community.’
She then added that perhaps most
valuable to the organisation with 2.7 million youth members and over
1million adult volunteers, she is very good at gathering up men.
Madonna went on: ‘But most importantly, I know how to scout for boys. So I think that I should be allowed to be a Boy Scout and I think they should change their stupid rules.’
