Two of Hollywood’s most bankable stars are being lined up to take leading roles in a biopic about Oscar Pistorius.

According to LA sources, Ryan Gosling has been approached to play the Blade Runner, while South African-born Charlize Theron, left, is tipped to portray his tragic girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The stunning model, 29, was shot dead by Pistorius at the couple’s luxury home in Pretoria in February. The Paralympic gold medallist denies murder and claims he mistook her for an intruder. He is currently on bail.

Hollywood insiders say two scripts are currently being developed and that one of the major studios is set to make an announcement on the project soon.

‘You’ve got one of the world’s most famous sportsmen under arrest and a beautiful young woman who meets a violent death,’ says a mole. ‘Scripts began doing the rounds within days of the scandal breaking.

‘Ryan has the kind of quiet magnetism that would make this project work – plus there’s some mystery about him. Although Ryan has been saying publicly that he wants to take a break from acting to relax, executives will be falling over themselves to woo him once the scripts are finalised.’

Gosling’s directorial debut – How To Catch A Monster – is due to be released next year. It stars his real-life girlfriend Eva Mendes, and Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks.

After playing Eighties pop star Boy George in a new BBC drama, it was perhaps inevitable that actor Douglas Booth would develop a penchant for wearing flamboyant clothes.

The handsome star, right, who shot to fame in the BBC’s adaptation of Great Expectations last year, admits he is a fan of ‘peacocking’ – dressing in outlandish outfits to attract the attention of female admirers.

To prove the point, I spotted 20-year-old Douglas teaming studded Gucci loafers with garish yellow socks.

‘There’s nothing like a good pair of brightly coloured socks to draw attention,’ laughed Douglas, who is dating his Great Expectations co-star Vanessa Kirby.

While David Bowie was noticeably absent at a star-studded party to launch a new retrospective of his career at the V&A, fashion-conscious Duran Duran star Nick Rhodes was spotted taking notes about the items on display.

The keyboard player, 50, has been storing his costumes from the band’s heyday, and is said to be contemplating a retrospective of his own.

‘Nick never throws anything away,’ said a friend. ‘He may be planning a similar event to this in the future.’

When I caught up with Rhodes’s stunning Italian girlfriend Maria Suvio recently, she let slip that she  keeps an eye on his wardrobe too. ‘I advise him to change if he needs to – and I even let him borrow my mascara,’ she giggled.

I'm yet to see this guy do any decent acting. But he does spend a lot of time pouting, so he could conceivably win the OSCAR fro best pouting provided he's not up against Renee Zellweger or a fat wet fish.

For the love of God....this poor girl only died a few weeks ago. Do these Holllywood types have no respect?

Are we serious? A beautiful young girl has died in what can only be described as murky circumstances, and already we're wondering who will play them both in a movie? Shouldn't we wait until culpability has been decided at the very least?

Ryan Gosling is 32, Oscar Pistorius 26 and Charlize Theron is 37, Reeva Steenkamp was 29. Charlize is also about 5ft 8in tall, Reeva was only about 5ft 4in. Well I suppose it's only acting, physical resemblances shouldn't really matter.

Wow..... talk about bad taste.

What the...? A script was being written as soon as the tragedy emerged? And they want to make a movie SO SOON? So wrong and disrespectful in so many levels. The case isn't even close yet, is it even legal to make a movie out of it under those circumstances? (sorry I'm not a lawyer) Both of them are superb actors, but this just does not feel right, not to me at least; but what the heck it's Hollywood we are talking about forget what I said.
