They have one of the longest marriages in Hollywood with a happy 32 year union and four children.

And Dustin Hoffman looked more in love with his wife Lisa than ever as he showered her with kisses at the Paris première of his new film Quartet on Tuesday.

The 75-year-old Oscar winning actor was busy promoting the film, which he directed, but couldn't resist planting several smooches on his wife's cheek.

The actor looked dapper in a dark grey suit and blue shirt, while Lisa, a businesswoman sported a bright pink shirt under a long dark blue jacket and black leather boots.

Dustin directs Billy Connolly, Tom tom Courtenay, Maggie Smith and Pauline Collins in the movie, which revolves around a group of elderly opera singers in a retirement home.

Lisa, 58, is the Rain Man star's second wife - they first met at a family barbecue when he was 27-years-old and she was ten.

The daughter of family friends, Lisa was convinced she was going to wed the actor soon after first meeting him - a fact he learned soon after they first got engaged.

He once recalled in an interview: ‘We were walking in Central Park with her grandmother, and she turned to Lisa and said, “Do you remember what you said to me that day after he got up and walked away? Grandma, when I grow up I’m going to marry him.”?’

The couple, who married in 1980, have four children with Dustin also father to two daughters from his previous marriage.

‘I don’t have 100 per cent strengths as a parent, my kids will be the first to tell you,' he once told The Daily Telegraph. 'They all think they had a great childhood, but if anything, they feel that we provided too big an umbrella, that they should have had summer jobs, that we should have been stricter about making the beds in the morning or whatever, that there was too much shelter.’

Meanwhile, Dustin clearly enjoyed directing his first movie, after making a first failed attempt in 1978 with Straight Time, in which he also played the leading role of a newly released criminal. ‘I got very confused with both jobs, so I fired myself from directing to concentrate on the acting,’ he says.

‘I was so traumatised that it’s taken me nearly 35 years, and almost the rest of my life, to get back in the director’s chair.’

Dustin says he never had any doubts about the film’s box-office potential. ‘Quartet is no different from a film about dancers or athletes in that it’s about having an extraordinary gift that goes and then no one wants you any more. It looks at people who become invisible because of age.

‘Every member of the supporting cast really is a retired musician or singer, whose phone stopped ringing with offers of work a long time ago, even though they can still deliver.

‘These guys are 70, 80, 90 years old, yet as soon as they arrived on set, they brought such energy and verve we all felt it. Directing the film didn’t seem like a job and I don’t know if I’ll ever feel like that again. I truly lucked out.

His kids think he let them live too easy a life growing up? Dustin and Lisa did something right for them to even think this. So many of the celebrity kids think they have it rough if they're not being supported in their 20's and 30's.

"Try acting, dear boy. It's much easier." One of the first stories I heard in my acting class.

Her body language is very stiff and unwelcoming. I don't think she's into this.

SHE ACTS really stiff and like its killing her to get that kiss,...

Lovely to see, but her body language doesnt reflect his, if she were happy she would have raised her arms up to embrace him, instead they are firmly strapped to her sides in all the photos and her smile does not appear to be genuine.

Body language is all wrong, she seems totally disinterested in him, poor guy.

The movie's theme sounds like one of Barbara Pym's novels, Quartet in Autumn. - ValRides1966 , Chicago, United States, 27/3/2013 16:22 Wonderful book - glad you appreciate a classic read!

Now that's real love : living day in and day out with someone who has shared so much of life with you, worked and fought by your side, looked after you when you needed it. looked to you when they needed support and received it. There's nothing like having the secure feeling of utter confidence in your life partner, and the comfort that brings.
